Run Cool Hood Louvers

What are your opinions on these???
They do look interesting.....

Of all the vehicles you pictured, they look natural on the Durango. I don't care for them too much.

 

They look OK on the jeep, but the Tacoma hood is perfect without these.

 

Hmmm.. interesting.

I would like to see a way to help pull some of that hot air out from under the hood. I wonder how it would look on a black hood.. I may have to photochop some to see if they look good.

ABSOLUTLY GROSS!!!!!! That's my humble opinion...The stock hood scoop for the Tacoma looks a lot better and I am in the process of trying to make mine funtional without opening up a can of worms with water, bug and dirt intake....

 

the jeep pulls them off pretty well but the tacoma is good as is

 

agree with the masses, not the greatest look accessory

 

$129.00 for the small/ like $160.00 for the large!!!! Why not just pick-up some $5 soffit vent and rivet it to the hood???

Adding vents and air flow is one thing, but I dont know about all those rivets! Even stainless rivets will oxidize, dis-color, etc... Plus you normally will get rust at the drill holes where you took it down to bare metal.

The only way I would consider something like that would be with fiberglass. It would be a major project, and require removal of the hood (at least for me to do it).

 

I originally thought these were ugly as could be. But now, after a long road trip on 4.88s and having a very high engine speed and temp, I see the practicality and will most likely be investing in some shortly
