18" wheels

I am looking forward to installing a toytec ultimate lift with ucl's and am now looking into wheels and tires.. I am leaning towards an 18" wheel and tire combo. Does anyone know what would be the biggest and best fit? I was thinking about 275/65/18 but do not know what backspacing to get and rim size(18x9.5)..... Hey CHRIS4x4 can you help???

 

Mine are 5" backspacing to (same wheels as Chris4x4 but mine are black). 4.5" backspacing is recommended for Tacoma's and would be ideal for 285/65/18 (my tire size) or 285/60/18 (Chris4x4).

 

I have the Toytec ultimate lift with 285/60/18 no rubbing at all. i think its 4.5'' BS

 

Not to thread jack.... but how do you figure out the back spacing of the wheels. Is it etched in the wheel somewhere? or should I have figured it out when i purchased the wheels because I have no idea what the BS is on mine.

 

If a 4.5 offset pushes the wheel out further wouldnt that help in not rubbing on the inside? Isnt that where most have a problem or is it on the outside that you will have the rubbing?

 

I apoligize but I forgot to ask another question... With a 5" backset is there a zero offset on the rim? I am ready to make a purchase and do not want to make a mistake and regret listening to a salesperson instead of someone with experience on modding their own truck...

 

I only see two setting for the wheels you guys have...4.53 bs -12 offset and 5.71 bs 18 offest (found on the wheel pros website).There was also an oddball 5.59 bs 15 offset on 4wheelparts too. So which one do you guys have? I'd like to know because I'm planning on running an 18" wheel too.

 

If I had to guess I'd say they're the 4.53 bs -12 offset. I pm'd OakleyTRD a while back after I saw that he switched his out because the offset was wrong and he said they were the 5.71 bs 18 offset. Different wheels but the fitments are the same. Hope this helps anyone needing it. I'm planning to order some wheels soon with the 4.53 bs -12 offset, so if my info is incorrect please let me know. Otherwise I'll let you guys know how it works out.

I'm running 285/65/18"s with a 18x9 inch rims with a -12 offset. Minor rubbing issues after trimming. Still need to trim a little bit at full tilt.

 

Any thoughts on 18x9.5 with 15 offset? I was thinking 275/60 or 265/60. The rims are Enkei and came off the Tundra upgrade. I haven't done any mods to the suspension yet.
