Which Cab Size\ Package Is The Most Fun to Drive

    Every DC Gen 2 I have driven just doesn't give me that sporty on road feeling. Are regular and extended cabs better?

    Remember, a double cab short bed is the same length as an access cab.

    Hmmm. I wonder if the weight difference and center of gravity shift makes a noticeable difference in handling?

    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Don't know your definition of 'sporty on road feeling' but few trucks fit my definition of that phrase.

    And off hand, I can't recall any of them being stock or off road capable.

    Care to give us some examples of trucks you've driven that give you the feel you seek?

    I would say a LT access cab.

    Completely stock would be a reg cab 4x4 with a v6. like a little jeep, just goes anywhere.

    "Raptor Style" grill mod, aftermarket wheels, 265/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Authorities, TRD Shoulder pads on seat belts, no mud flaps, AVS Hoodflector bug shield *removed*, Dee Zee Ultrablack Bull Bar w/ license plate mount, dipped my fuel door for no reason, N-Fab Spare tire mount w/ full size matching spare, dipped eyelids onto my headlights for no reason, dipped my hood for no reason
    I've got an access cab. I love it. Very fun to drive and I like the look of them. I'm also a very skinny person so I was drawn toward a smaller truck. Just wouldn't look right in a DCLB. Anyway, I hope you find the info you're looking for!

    Had a 92 Ranger extended cab with a 4.0 that was fun. An 86 Nissan pre-frontier that felt quick and just bought a 2000 4x4 limited (see pic) that whips around pretty good and offsets driving the Tundra everyday.

    I bought my son a 07 DCSB sport last year and it is a great looking truck but just doesn't seem to get it for me handling wise.

    Maybe sporty is not the best adjective here but hopefully you get what I'm saying.

    Add the supercharger, lower the truck, get some DUB wheels and skinny tires.

    A huge sub woofer will help.

    I would like to drive one. And they look good. I wonder what that body kit would look like on a slightly lifted truck?

    I went by dealership here yesterday, Ernie Palmer Toyota, looking for a 4x4 access cab to test drive. None in stock.

    Pickup trucks don't "handle" for that I have a Turbo Miata and a GSXR-750R. The Tacoma plods, but neither the Miata or gixxer are any good off road. Horses for courses.

    That would be fun. I got the Reg Cab 4x4 with the 2.7. It's a fun little truck but I'm not going to pretend that I win any races.

    My opinion greatly differs from most people because I actually like the bench seat. It's a lot of seat to explore on drives.

    If it was just me, and the wife didnt have to drive it occasionally, and I didnt need the seating room for the kids I would have a stick with a regular cab. I miss having a stickshift, and am constantly trying to use the auto like it were a stick, but its just not the same.

    I see you have an 05. That year regular cab or access would be what I would want to trade up the 2000 to. Around here it is hard to find any used Tacoma's for sale. And all the new dealerships mark up about 3 to 4 k above the sticker. Have to go to the other side of town tomorrow. Will check dealer for stick 4x4 reg cab.
