There's also Fort Collins 4x4. Seem to be nice people. Went there a few times for some events. I never got a good vibe from Bullhide, but I have no personal experience as far as work from either.

And I'm sure Addicted Offroad installs lifts as well and I know they do good work.

Have Jace at Stevinson do it, or Dylan @ InSainFab in Thornton if you're near that area.

Or just pay cash for everything. Saves a ton of money too.

I have. I have nothing positive to say so I'll just recommend the known options in this thread that come highly recommended.

Ost, I'm looking for a good beginner rifle, something good for learning how to take apart and maintain a rifle and for bringing to the mountains for shooting targets and for fun.

What do you think of the smith and Wesson M&P 15-22?

    sean..... that was beautiful!

as far as bullhide goes, i've never purchased anything there but the few times i had been in it just wasn't a welcoming feeling. if anyone is looking in fort collins specifically i would say contact Addicted Offroad. i'm sure most here would agree Scotty does great work and will always give you good straight forward info if you have any questions.

speaking of guns...... i picked up my gun safe today :woot:

Guys calls my work at around 7:20 asking if anyone was there to be able to do a personal gun transfer. "Yes there is, but the wait for the background check is currently almost an hour and we close at 8:00" "That's ok, I don't mind waiting..."

He apparently wasn't getting my hints that maybe I'd like to go home and not sit and wait on his transfer.

The M&P15-22 is a decent platform but what's your goal? In years past I'd say to get one because you could shoot the shit out of it for pennies. I lost count of how many bricks I put through mine but that was when you could get a 550rd brick for well under $20 per. Nowadays this isn't the case & to buy in any quantity you're almost better off just getting a standard AR15 & using full power ammo. Lately there's been some really good deals on rifles as the panic buy on those has been over for quite a while. That will change over the next few months as the election nears again. If you don't get one now you'll pay 2-3x more for the same rifle year's end. I digress. Depending on what your needs are you can get a Colt (as much as I hate them as a company) or other entry level models for not much more than you'd pay for that M&P15-22. So depending on what your needs are I'd probably suggest going that route because it opens a lot more doors & the downside is nill these days.

You're right, he didn't ax joo!

IMO, it's tough to beat a .22LR for a basic plinking/target rifle. Believe it or not ammo is still out there for cheap. I picked up my last three 500 round boxes from Sports Authority (at Southglenn) for $25 each. This was maybe 6mos to a year ago. Just go into your local store, ask when they usually get shipments, and be nice. They'll tell you.

I've noticed much less of a shortage and .22 is WAY cheaper than any other round. For a basic plinker there isn't much better.

Here's my Marlin 795. It's still the most fun of any of my rifles to shoot, and it's a great one to get people into shooting as well!

Another great 22 rifle is a Henry lever action. They are great guns to shoot and a well renound brand.
