    Well after close to a month without a working tv in the living room or my roommates room, and after ordering/returning/ordering more parts, I was finally successful in fixing the roommates tv. The video board was shot, so my original suspicion that the lightning strike sent a surge through the cable lines is correct. I also just found that the roommates cable box must've gotten fried too.

    Still waiting for a replacement video board for the living room but I'm confident that will fix it.

    However I got an itch for a fancy new tv and went to best buy last night and bought a 55" Sony 4k ultra hd 3D tv :p hell of a price- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-55...lack/5005006.p?id=1219106275392&skuId=5005006

    Opted to buy the 5 year protection plan too just incase, and a 3d bluray player.
