I'm referring to people who think you have to wear clothes for a brandname on it just for looks and because it's trendy. I don't share that mindset. I think it's pretty clear what I was saying but spin it as you wish. Not interested in an ethics debate with you.

In my experience the cork does deteriorate at the edges over time, but my Birks definitely last me longer than most of my shoes do. I don't regularly use them in wet environments, so I cannot comment on that.

They are well put together in my opinion

"...I'd love to be a member of this forum, but in the limited amount if lurking I've done since about a month ago, I've got say... I'm not too impressed with the amount of "dude-bro" douchebaggery I've seen on this forum. Seems like any question that's asked is inevitably answered by some scumbag with a death wish (the desert is a BIG place as I'm sure you all know), so should I find another place to be a member of, or is that kind of crap more of an anomaly instead if the norm around here?..."

    You've changed Chesh.

I guess if I had to pick between the 2 I'd be a dirty hippie because I wear Carhartt's instead of skinny jeans.

I take it from your feedback you don't have any experience with Birkenstocks but thanks for chiming in.

I'm sure they are great. And knowing the 'inventor', he thanks you for your loyalty. But, it's like driving a minivan.

    neverstuck,
I've had them in the rotation for ~30 years and favour function over fashion. Just remember to pick up some Cork Care and apply every 3-6 months (like water sealant on work boots) and they last a really long time.

I have a pair, then again I went to college in a hippie town everyone was wearing them. Still the most comfy pair of shoes I own, those and my work "duty" boots.
