I'd say the opposite. My retro's are hands down my favorite mod. I've had no problems yet, but I haven't had mine as long as Mike. I'd give up my bar and both sets of dually's to keep the headlights.

Granted I did choose the cheapest option on the retrofit. I would think the FXrs or a kit with OEM ballasts and bulbs would be awesome. I've just had issues with keeping the ballast and bulb connections waterproof. And my one side is dimmer than the other and I can't figure out why. New ballast, bulbs, wiring, everything. Still dimmer.

I think for the price and ease of installation, the dot dullies should be considered.

The mini H1 Kit. I've heard good things about the new D2s kit though. that's what I'd do if I was going to do it over.

I've had the mini h1 kit in use for a few years now with no complaints, I love them. Only issue I had was the wiring harness wouldn't turn on the high beams. I called TRS over a year after purchasing the kit and they sent me a new updated harness free of charge. If I had to choose between the projectors with no other lights and stock headlights plus my lightforces the projectors on their own win hands down.

I would choose that setup as well simply because you can't use the light forces around town or on the highway with oncoming traffic. The DOT lights you can, and are extremely bright. That's all I'm getting at.

Kyle, don't let what I'm saying stray you away from doing a retrofit. You'll love the light output. I was just throwing ideas out there. I do like the performance of my retros, just wish I could fix my dimming issue. And the high beam shield that won't fully open.

My current sealed beams are horrendous. Retros or DOT duallies would fix that. Just which one...

Yeah Ben, I am not him... Though I have seen his truck around campus, namely the freshman dorms... As you can guess from my last statement, I don't have much $ to do anything with it, Last semester I installed a 10 Polk audio sub, not much room left in the back of the ol' Access cab:(... though this summer should be fun, I was gonna buy a boat, until someone hit my front bumper, so for now I have a big band aid on it as my "3 dollar fix to a 1000 dollar issue". I also am planning on plasti dipping my hood black, my super white likes to let me know that it is a white truck when I drive around in the summer....
Here is a photo I took a few days ago, proof I am who I say I am
