Hopping on the webz to buy some spacers. Changed my mind from 1" to 1.25", wish I had known I was going to do that sooner. I passed up a lot of good ads :(
This weekend is winch and slider re-installation.

Also thinking about doing it next weekend, it'll be warmer. Then I can install some stuff this weekend and my rear shocks will be done and on by then

About 2 years ago I had my stock battery die while out in Wenatchee, and the only thing I could pick up was what Costco had on hand, which was undersized (I think a group 24?? Whatever the standard is for the smallest thing they can get away with on a Taco)
I've been noticing my battery feels pretty anemic, so I talked to the local Costco. The guy said that he would give me cash back on mine, so I've been thinking about getting something big, like the DieHard everyone switches to. Is this the right one to get, or do you guys have a better recommendation?

I just went to get my battery tested and sure enough, 400 amps after just about a year old.
I got the Diehard size 31 sitting in the passenger seat waiting. POWAHHH!

I think im going to pass this weekend. The weekend after i should have most of the mods done on my truck (maybe not electrical though). Plus my rtt should arrive by then hopefully! (Mt. Shasta!)

Speaking of mods....got my All-Pro rear bumper on...by myself. Well its 90% done, just got to wire up the lights which wont take long but it started raining pretty good.

Used 4 jack stands and the lift. Went slowly and raised the jacks . Took awhile but never felt toooo unsafe.

And then here it is in place. Leans 1/8 of an inch towards the drivers side but whatever.

Might try to tackle the Pelfybilt front bumper tomorrow. Though thats a bit more since its got the lightbar, winch, and fogs to deal with

ps....for electrical work, get a pair of the self-adjusting wire strippers. I got this one and am quite amazed. Makes stripping wire so much quicker and easier

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
All I can say is, I still have the original OEM battery in mine, which is 4.5 years old and has been fully-depleted more than once :)anon:).

Just got it tested a few months ago, and it was putting out 815 CCA, which is more than the minimum rating.

You didn't go with the office chair as a jack method like me? :D
Regardless, looking good, keep up the work!
I agree about wire strippers. Mine aren't as nice, wish I had those!

Well, mine was a champ for the almost 6 years of service it gave. I went full bore because the extra set of terminals are super nice and I can quit mashing things around trying to make it fit.

Haha no office chair! Thankfully I'd put money aside to bolster my tool/garage so the four stands and jack were more or less waiting for me to get home.

They are only 20 bucks..well worth it so far! I honestly thought they would be a bit gimmicky and not worth it but glad i listened to my electrician buddy and got them (granted his are much nicer but these will work just fine)

and you were lucky on the battery! Mine lasted all of 2 years. And silly Toyota dealt with it so stupidly. I called them up and told them im pretty sure the battery is dead. Tried jumping it with no luck, tried a separate unit for jumping, nothing. Asked if i could bring in just the battery for warranty. O no they wont do that. They sent a tow truck to get my truck. Towed it to the dealership. Took them 3 hours to call and say...yeah its a dead battery we will replace it. :facepalm:Only good part was they didnt have the tacoma battery in stock or whatever so i got one for a tundra.

Where at in leavenworth you thinkin? Ive always wanted to check out stuart ridge but honestly im not too familiar with the area. Ive got maps in case i need them but for the most part i just ecplore trails and roads and seem to find the coolest spots that way... and ive honestly not gotten my tacoma stuck yet, have had a couple hills (one shale, one ice that i couldnt make it up)... so far ive been able to see ahead if the shits gonna get thicker than i want to risk. Shoulda bought sliders but i bought an ak

For sure, ill probably have to catch you guys on the mid to late summer trips then. Hopefully have some protection then.

What rear suspension setup do you have now? I have the icon AAL but im already thing something stiffer with a bit more lift so i can crank up the front a little, noticing some sag as well.
Before and after pics are a must!

I had the Icon AAL but then went to the Dakar pack once I had the idea of getting a RTT. You want before/after of AAL to Dakar? Or Dakar and then Dakar with AAL?
