    Hard braking makes it worse. Extending your braking distances and releasing the brakes before coming to a complete stop also helps. Axle wrap seems to be worse on autos.

    Thanks sounds easy enough but i think i will try the shackles and if i start doing bed rack, rtt, etc. then i will do the aal! :D

    I've actually gotten the EliteOffroad bumper I ordered last year earlier this month. It tips the bathroom scales at 97 pounds. I have a 12k HF Badlands winch for it that's about 87 pounds according to the manual(forgot to weigh it). These 185 pounds are going on a set of 881s mounted on 5100s on a 2.7l.

    I'm at the lowest setting currently and net almost 3". Anyone have a clue if I'll need to add a leveling disk if I clip the 5100s at the 1.25" middle setting?

    I would do the opposite, personally, in hindsight. Do the Dakar with aal, then if you need a little extra out back do the longer shackles. Once the aal settles in it only nets about 3/4 to an inch of lift anyways, but gives you better weight capacity. be prepared, it will shoot you way up at first :) look at my pics, you'll see what I mean. It was cray cray high at first but now not so much.

    Ok so here it is at first.. keep in mind I have 1.5" lift shackles here. Holy rake batman:

    It settled pretty quick. Not too long after, still with 1.5" lift shackles.

    Well that is still a lot of rake in my second pic. Either way will be ok, but I think you might be better off with just aal and stock shackle length.

    I pulled those from my build thread :)

    But without the 1.5" shackles imagine where it would be in terms of height. I have since backed down to 1" lift shackles, and with the bumper rack and rtt sitting at 3/4" higher in rear. Prolly drops .25" to .5" when loaded down for camping if I had to guess.

    OME Everything! (883 coils with Dakars), Light Racing UCAs, Wheelers SS brake lines, Toytec 1" lift shackles, Magnaflow muffler, CKMA12 ARB On-Board Air Compressor, Custom 80' Sliders
    I wasn't to sure i liked the rake at first after the dakar install with stock shackles. After flexing them out they did settle a little, but im still about .5 inches higher in the rear. I guess thats normal toytec listed them as a 3.5in lift springs.


    Anyways... question - any advantage for having more rake?

    So I finally got my wheels shipped in. Tires have been layin around staring at me for the past 2 weeks...Torture man.

    I've had the OME suspension upgrade on for a while but I got my wheels balanced and tires mounted up today, and I couldn't be happier.

    881's with 10mm spacer
    Nitrocharger sports in all 4 corners.
    Stock leaf springs with 1.5 inch AAL for now. Dakars in the future.

    Sitting pretty much level which is what I wanted, no weight in the bed however.

    285/75/R16 BFG T/A KO2's
    Pro Comp 7069 Matte black alloys. (16x8 -12mm off set, 4'' backspace)

    Nicely done, always like the blackout look.

    So I just loaded my truck up for a little camping, and I am all over the map on height. Gonna rearrange the load tomorrow, think my toolbox is causing truck to lean a little left, but guessing I'll be just about dead nuts level all the way around. Springs aren't looking very happy now that I look at them.
