Just built up my new trail bike for 2015, got one ride on it so far and it's a blast.

I can definitely see that concerning the DBInline. After messing with it for about 6 or so rides, I've gotten to a point that it feels "good enough". I'm a "set it and forget it" type of person, so even though this shock is fully adjustable I probably won't mess with it after I find a setting that works for most of the trails that I ride in.
I demoed the carbon version my bike with a Fox Factory CTD and holy crap was it harsh!

thanks for the advice guys, think I might hold off for now and see what other deals come around. Did some sleuth work and found the guy has been trying to sell his remedy on pinkbike since october.. so somethin tells me its not that great of a deal.

another question, is the 10mm difference from 150 to 160 really that noticeable? really thinking I'll need/want the 160 for the 15ft jumps and rough downhill that Trestle offers. Just dont want to get a 150 only to find out I'm limited to what i can hit.

I think the major difference is more in the geometry. I'm not sure what the exact number are for the remedy and slash but I'm guessing the remedy has a slightly steeper head angle, possibly shorter chainstays and steeper seat angle, as well as a lighter frame which would all help with climbing a little. its probably not a huge difference but enough that trek felt that they could offer both bike at one point. even though now the remedy is only 140mm of travel.

I think that if you want to do jumps like that a slash, enduro, santa cruz nomad, etc. might be the answer for what you are looking for. they are a littl e more downhill oriented while still being able to climb.

I rode the slash with 1x last summer and I thought it was a pretty solid climber. its no fuel ex( 29er with 120mm travel) but its also gonna handle hard stuff a lot better.

Thanks Stephen, really appreciate the feedback. Thinking I may go the slash/enduro route. I'm fine with being slow going up the hills (as long as the front isnt jumping up all over the place all the time) just want to make sure I wont have a bike explode going down.

Got a chance to ride one of our customers' new Mach 4 Carbon for the day and I have to say it is the best bike I've ever ridden. It's just a great as the 6 but on a different spectrum. You can rail it so dang hard for an 'xc' ish bike from how bottomless the travel feels. And of course the DW link pedals so well this is easily a race bike as well. Go try one if you can! Glad I already have one in order...

no problem! most newish 160mm travel bikes are gonna be decent climbers, from both a pedaling and technical riding viewpoint. maybe check out a mojo HDR, they might be a little cheaper now that the HD3 came out, not really sure how much of a price drop though. they are supposed to be great climbers and I've seen some people hit up some pretty big jumps on them

I don't normally do this but we need some help with trails where I'm from. We have applied for a grant from Bell for a DH style trail and made it to the regional finals. The trail is the Cedar Creek trail in Ruidoso NM. Follow the link and vote please! Thanks for checking it out.

What are your guys' thoughts on the Diamondback Sortie One or the Diamondback Mason FS? If I go for the Sortie, I have to wait until sometime in Fall. I just don't know what to do. I wanna new bike, damn it!.. hahaha. Either way, it'll be a huge step up from my Haro hardtail.

Got in a ride finally today after work. Felt great to be back on the bike. I've been stupid busy and haven't been able to get out until today. Nice easy ride for the first one.

got to ride the santa cruz tallboy lt yesterday...thing rolls over everything. i only got to ride it for about 30 minutes on a trail i was completely lost on but it definitely felt like it climbed alot better except for really steep stuff. afterwards I was told to just layback and keep that front end down rather than lean over the front which is kind of weird for me. they are bringing the full SC demo truck out in july so I'm excited for that

I had a Fuji Reveal 3.0 with a Fox 160mm travel fork. Pretty good bike. Disregard the finger.

Yours must be 2010+ model...note the frame change. Mine = 2009 which looks to be last year of that frame design according to what I've researched.

Bought this on Wednesday. 2015 Mason FS. Light years better than my Haro hardtail.

Just need to figure out why I have such bad brake fade on downhill runs. Has SRAM DB5 brakes.
