What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

How are you keeping yours from dying?

 

Well it'll only die if my truck isn't started and all the power is coming from the battery itself. Usually I just turn my sub amp off and leave my component amps on when I'm tailgating or if I want bass i just start my truck every 30-35 minutes and let it charge back up

 

So if I don't play mine without the truck running I should be good?

 

i see..so you were draining it from the block correct?

 

Replaced the starter (still not done yet, I need to visit fastenal tomorrow and get a replacement starter bolt) with a high torque (Cold weather) starter.
Also tested my battery, rated for 650CCA and it tested at 400CCA, so that's gonna get replaced soon.

 

Yes not gonna kill it if the truck is running......2 12s? That's a lot of bass, hope you have really increased the mids and highs, as in you got rid of the stock and went with something higher end. And that amp may be a bit small for those subs, an 800 monoblock probably wouldn't be enough for 2 12s......try just 1 of the 12s at first and see how you like it. Just my 2cents....I also have 1 10 and it's more than enough....as long as you properly tune your box (airspace/port) you will be good to go

 

Who needs highs in music? A couple big dooshbag mating calls are all you need to sound like a straight up baller cruising the malls.

 

I was thinking the same. But yeah one 10 I have now hits harder and cleaner then anybody I know with 2 12s I also recommend upgrading all your speakers while your at it and use that amp for your components

 

That's what I thought about doing was ordering a single 12 box and just running 1 cause I don't want a lot of bass I just want a little and my buddy has a 10 and his sounds perfect

 

Add the "street glow" lights and some candy and scrunchies in the ashtray and he will be ready for the hottest of mall skankery LOL

 

Go to a decent local audio shop and have them build you a box for your sub...1 they will build it to fit the Xtra cab 2 it will be built to your subs specs worth the extra couple of bucks

Or sell the 2 12s on CL and buy 1 10

 

I went the other day and he said he would install it and wrap all the wires and build a box and tune it right for 250 I'm probably gonna end up taking it to him

 

That's a decent price

 

If he's uses decent stuff thats a good deal

 

He does good work I seen his jeep at jeep fest and he said he had around 4k worth of audio in it

 

How much are the OEM black fender flares worth?

 

$60-$80 at least

 

Moab trip from a few years ago. Forward obviously. Worked out pretty good

 

Does that Tundy have the 5.7?

 

Absolutely. It is an amazing towing combination. Only downside was MPGs. Averaged about 11 for the round trip.
