Have you guys tried getting some Melatonin?

You can get 1,2 or even 3mg tablets over the counter at the drug stores. I've got a whole bottle of 1mg here at the house.

Your body makes melatonin naturally but not necessarily at the time you want it to. It helps make you drowsy to help you fall asleep.

But yeah..when I work 3rd shift, I use melatonin & Unisom when I need it. There are other types of sleeping pills out there, you just gotta find one that works.

I have melatonin, it works great. I usually take 2 3mg pills though.. Kinda knocks me out real quick when I can't sleep :)

Try exercising more and maybe drink a beer before bed...or just run full speed head first into the wall if all else fail!

Find a hill near your home...sprint up it as many times as you can in the morning, I'd say 10-12 should get it. Thrust me you will sleep like a baby the next night! :p

I'll second the melatonin, it seems to help. I've been having insomnia issues for about a month before trying it, and it certainly makes a difference.

As for beer before bed, I'm not a drinker but I seem to recall that although it may help you get to sleep initially, I believe you may be more likely to wake up after the alcohol is no longer in your bloodstream; something about increasing your metabolism or something, but I'm no Dr, so what do I know.

** edit : and since your body produces melatonin already it is about as natural as you can get.

I lift and run at least 5 days a week. If you are in decent shape and work out a lot it gives you energy not make you tired. I don't sleep at night because my work shifts are screwy.
