On a serious note , to put it into perspective , if you put all the raw logs exported from BC in 2014 alone on logging trucks and parked them end to end , they would stretch from Vancouver to Ontario

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Unsurprising, since a pretty big chunk of BC's economy is made up of Resource extraction.

Now, are you advocating an end to ALL lumber exports, or simply of the raw materials (implying that the lumber would be cut to dimension/finished in BC and then exported)?

That doesn't include the logs milled into lumber and used domestically or exported , that's just raw , unprocessed logs put on ships and sent to Asia

Raw Log exports provide very few jobs in BC , even the Pulp and Paper unions are against them at least at their current volume

So I'm assuming that you're advocating for having all of the lumber finished in BC and then exported.
That I could get behind, if I were Canadian.

In the land of freedom and liberty you are entitled to have your own religious beliefs, as long as they don't cause you to do or say anything that you wouldn't otherwise do, because that will offend certain people who don't have the same beliefs. Religion is a lot like the old don't ask don't tell game.

Happy belated Earth Day. I took some bottles to the recycling depot and bought some locally brewed beer to do my part.

    Tell that to the evangelicals.

OK, back on topic. Humans are a disease.

ah, ..the bristlecone pine... once I took a detour, up into the white mountains (kalifornia), surprisingly there were roads going up there (even some paved), ...it was kind of an eerie place, ...supposedly what is believed to be the oldest known tree is somewhere up there...

...the corollary is that we never reach peak knowledge, ...science evolves with civilization, ...it is man's attempt to explain the natural, and supernatural, science is experimental and can be flawed, and is sometimes wrong (history shows revelations)...so, in short, discovery leads to questions, which leads to discovery, ..which leads to more questions, ...the cycle is perpetual...
