But I did find time for a much needed wash and wax... I tried a touchless automatic yesterday and it was a complete waste of $10. Much better results doing it by hand!

Now if ARB will ever get my 90021s shipped, I'll have something a little more exciting to post in this thread!

And nice trail rides posted above!

As tyfoon11 knows all too well (he delivered them to me - thanks Jay!) these are the bolt-on version that require drilling holes in the frame. After giving it some thought, I had them welded on. Came out really nice. For the moment, they are the only things on the sides of my truck that aren't covered in trail rash. :D

Decided I wasn't a huge fan of the completely de-badged look. Put the Toyota Tacoma badges back on and added the 4 Wheel Drive badge from an FJ.

I like the old-school look of that. You wouldn't happen to have a part number handy?

Joined the 255/85/16 club today. Billies set at 1.75 (2.5 inches of actual lift) and stock UCAs. I'll flex it a little over the weekend to see what rubs. Tires are Toyo M55. I need to paint those wheels...

Removed the port-installed clear bra. Can't stand the lines of dirt that collect on the edges.

Also slapped on a piece of scrap vinyl to see if I like the blacked out look between the windows. I don't. Lol

Ok, Im confused. I see a lot of people running 255/85/16's. How could they be bigger than 285/75/16's? Going with Cooper STMaxx but looking for bugger that my 265/75/16 rugged trails.

the first number is tire width (255mm) the second is the height of the sidewall, represented as a percentage of the width (85% of 255mm)

It's a strange way to do it IMO, but it is what it is.

yeah im not sure why thats not shown. and im not sure if they even adjusted it idk. on the ppr it did say camber, caster, and toe adjustment. if they actually did it is hard to tell. we dnt have the best of shops around here and the dealership is the same way about stuff they just charge you twice as much to do just as shitty job.

If you measure from floor up on a 255 versus a 285, the 255 will come in right at 33" while the 285 will come in at around 32.6ish or so. The 285 is wider but the 255 is what most will consider to be a true 33" tire.

255 is the tread sections width in mm. A 255/85 16 would measure 255 mm at the tread the 85 is the sidewall height represented as a percentage (%) of the tread width. So a 255 mm tread width would calculate to 255 mm x 85% = 216.75 mm. Now here is where it gets to be confusing nonsense. There are technically two sidewalls. One on either side of the rim. Not inner and outer. Upper and lower or left and right. So you take that 216.75 and double it or times it by 2. 216.75x2=433.5mm. Take that and add it to the 16" rim and you have your total tire height. So, you have to convert the 433.5 mm to inches and add it to the 16".

    255/85R16

    Here we go: (255mm x 85%) x 2 + 16" =
    433.5 mm + 16" =
    25.4mm=1" 433.5 mm = 17.066" +16" = 33.066"

In flotation tire terms it would be a 33x10R16.

The actual tire diameter is going to vary by manufacturer and tire.
