The KOA has nice showers, a little pricey. Like $8. Then you can go to the little motel or bed and breakfast places, and they have showers for like $4 -$6

Kind of thinking out loud... Maybe someone has some in site.. i would appreciated..

"i am debating about just putting sliders on and seeing how far daisy(lx470) will go in stock form.. [IMG].... whats the worse thing that can happen? Roll? i don't think i have the skill to do that... [IMG] especially if i have someone i trust spotting me.. because i come from a 2 door jeep.. wheel base and departure angles(mostly rear) are my biggest concern. i know i will need a rack to throw my tire on top.. not really worried about height because Daisy sits 2 inches higher then a stock FJ(compared to a buddies) at daisy highest setting.."

    thought over...

You'll be fine. Do it and come out. As has been mentioned before......trails to suite all skill and rig levels.

Do you have a rear hitch? If so I say go for it! Your departure angle is the only thing that's gonna hurt you. With sliders you should be fine. There's many trails that you'll be just fine on with sliders and a rear hitch to take the impact.

Sliders will help you immensely. Bent and broke bumpers can be easily fixed or upgraded. Having your rockers bent up into your doors...not as easy to deal with lol. Worst you can do? Yes roll. But generally trails that you'd bring a stock rig on generally don't have that problem.

kind why i want to go in stock from... when i build my bumpers gives me ideas. i know i am going with a rear ARB so i might just put that on.. with sliders and go for broke... LOL.. i know what i eventually want to do.. just a matter of time.. really, i would be really happy if i could get up Hells this trip.

Hells has bypasses on everything. You could make it without sliders

You'll be fine on Hells. You get so much traction it's like driving on the street.

Although, the "bypass" for the second big hill is actually getting a bit dug out we discovered last trip lol. But the big hill is no problem to do. Usually we just cut around to pass slower people.

I used a warm weekend in March 2022 to finally install my brand new from old stock 2000 4Runner driver's seat. $800 directly from the factory in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.
The Moab Recreation and Aquatic Center has $4 showers. 2nd to the last item on the page the previous link takes you to. All the choices were detailed in post #3 on this thread by NYCO, I think. When I saw how new the MRAC building was, I decided that was all I needed to know. It's a bring your own towel, soap, etc. Shower shoes (flip flops) are recommended.

The rig is good but I'm picking up a new tow rig this week and I need to tweak more hp out of it before the trip. New exhaust, fuel pin, possibly new turbo housing and I'm not sure what else.
