    ...I think i'd want to consider just what this bench is going to be used for, ...from what I've gathered, there's fairly broad community aversion to putting film finishes (especially something glossy) on a "workbench";
    rationale (again, ..as I've gathered...)
    1) any finish will wear, ...so why use a built-up film finish that will be more difficult to "repair"/maintain than a simple non-film finish...
    2) a film finish, especially something glossy, will reduce the workholding ability of the benchtop due to low coef of friction...

    i.e. ..use film finishes on furniture, ..but not "workbenches"...
