The JBA UCA uses GM balljoints? Their web page said Jeep balljoints, am I looking in the right web page?

The JBA UCA looks very interesting. Interested to hear reports from users.

Uni-ball UCAs seem to have some users (like myself with TC UCAs) with no squeak issues, and others who have chronic problems with squeaking. Must be the environment? or early uni-balls that were not stainless? Given the mixed reports on uni-balls, I might try the JBA or similar ball-joint UCA next time.

It's actually a Moog ball joint part number: K6292. People use them to replace factory ball joints on 1 ton trucks AFAIK.

See these links for more info:

FYI JBA got back to me (REALLY quick i might add).

Downtravel flex is MUCH greater than stock, id be interested to see how this would compare to a uniball.

I'm sure those will articulate enough that they won't limit your down travel. But I doubt you'll ever need that much flex or angle in that BJ to reach full droop.

I can only imagine that a 1 ton ball joint off a Chevy truck is much stronger and hence longer lasting than our stock ball joints. I'm going to be getting some JBA's in the future.

Possible. I know even with uniballs they come REAL close to topping out the flex on them with 5100's

I got $200 for mine but based on the interest in them I probably could have gotten more for them. But I was happy to have them gone. Total junk IMO

FYI here are specs for degree of deflection on the JBA arms from JBA himself.... im really liking these arms!!! FYI just messaged total chaos to see what kinda angles they can get out of their uniball arms.

speaking of specs, what is your guys opinions on alignment specs? should you always try to get them within manufacturer's recommendations regardless of how much lift you have, or are there more ideal settings for different amounts of lift?

    general consensus is

as much caster as you can get.... 2.5-3* is golden. much less than 1.7ish is too little

Camber .2 to .5* to keep the tires wearing evenly

toe, a cunt hair of toe in.

I run Icon 2.5's set at 2" of thread for a 3" lift. Sway bar is relocated and tied to the spindles with All Pro end links. I run 17x9 MT's with 285/70/17 MT Baja ATZ P3's. The alignment is checked and set once every 2000 kms (a freebee from a friend).

My LR UCA's are working just fine with the above. I go with what I know.

Perhaps an improper set up is what is causing the LR's to fail occasionally?
