Hey everyone.....some of you may know that I bought a new Tacoma almost two weeks ago. I was looking over the truck yesterday and I noticed on the right front fender (a very small spot - a little bigger than a quarter) that the paint was messed up. I attached a photo of it....sorry that it is not the best quality but would this be considered having a small defect in the paint. As you can see, there is no sign that it was hit or scratched. With all of the rain we have had in the last week, I haven't been able to wash it. I checked to see if it was dirt at first but it seem like it might have a very lite rough spot. Shouldn't this be covered since it is a brand new truck? Any advice would be appreciated.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
It's a really blurry photo, so it's hard to tell. But I'd say take it back to the dealer and have them take a look at it and see what they tell you.

Yeah...with the color and the reflection of the paint...it was hard to get a good clear picture using my phone. It looks spotty and the is no other marks around it

The original description makes it seem like there's something under the clear coat, or paint.

They may try detailing it (clay bar, buff, even polish). I doubt you'll get a new paint job. But hey, I could be wrong. I have been wrong more than 4 times in my life. Just see what the dealership can do for you with this new truck you purchased from them.

I would be pissed. Take back to the dealer immediately BEFORE attempting to fix the problem yourself (this can lead to further damage)

Yeah...I got a little ticked when I discovered it. I plan on taking it to the dealer in the next couple of days

*Update*. I was able to take it to the dealership about an hour ago. I told them the details about the paint and one of the office associates came out there and looked at it. When she first looked at it, she said that she would get the manager because it looks like a warranty issue. The manager came out and looked at it. After looking at it, they took a cleaning cloth and it started to go away. They believe it is wax residue from the detail shop. They saw a couple of light areas in other places. Since it was getting close to knock off time, the manager told me to bring it back in the next couple of days and he will have the detail shop wash it, re-wax, buff it, and re-inspect it. He also said that if that doesn't work, then we will look in a warranty claim against the paint on the fender. He pretty much said that either way, they will take care of it.
