Alright so my girlfriend and I go camping in the truck a lot and we have this tent:

    IMG_5083_91e7e67678cd73bdcda853b0bdacbe2654fa6efa.jpg
I was wondering what people sleep on when they camp in their trucks. I have been thinking of getting one of the air mattresses that goes over the wheel wells so that we have more space. Lately we have been using a twin air mattress and squeezing it between the wells but I weigh about 200 and my girlfriend weighs about 80 pounds less so when the bed is comfortable for me, it is rock hard for her and when it is comfortable for her, I am on the bed with no air under me.

Maybe some good sleeping pads would be better. Just looking for some suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Toyota actually sells an air mattress for the bed of the tacoma that covers the whole surface area of the bed. If that doesn't work you could always use sleeping pads and on top the sleeping pads put that memory foam shit then blankets and would be comfortable for everybody. They sell the memory foam in a qween size for around 100 bux at costco

No prob that memory foam is killer I love that stuff and the woman will be alot happier. Might have to cut it you could even get the king size for a bit more and cut it custom to the bed up to you and your preference

I bought an RV mattress online and use it on a sleeping platform. I think it's 3/4 size mattress. It was around $130ish, but way comfy on top of plywood.

I built a platform and on top the platform I have about a 2 inch thick foam pad. Works great and you will have a lot more space without having to squeeze between the wheel wells.

I think you'll have to ditch the air to get rid of the weight shifting problems. Memory foam probably the way to go as suggested.
I got 2 small air mattresses to combine with a fitted sheet in the tent for my wife and I, for that reason. We're only about 50 lbs apart, but its still annoying. We don't sleep together in the truck. I sleep in the truck when she's not with me.

    " . . .but I weigh about 200 and my girlfriend weighs about 80 pounds less . . . "

We had that issue. I was 240 and she was 140. I lost 65 lbs and our problem went away.

I have an Undercover bed cover, and I just pop that up, and tie a big mosquito net over the whole thing & we sleep in the bed.
I had left over carpet pad from our house. Not that "re-bond" stuff, but new virgin foam rubber.
I cut some pads the same shape as the bed, and with sleeping bags that's fine for us.

Haha my problem is that I would be a 140 lbs. 6'3" human. That is unhealthy! Maybe she should gain 60? I think I'm gonna follow the advice with the memory foam or build a platform!

I have a platform and bought a foam pad from the Military Surplus store. Super nice! I also throw my therma-rest on top too. Less bulk=more headroom.

I have shag carpet laid down on my sleeping platform which is more than enough cushioning for me. If the weather is a bit colder, (- digits) I pop a thermarest z lite or my big agnes pad underneath. With my shell on top I have to choose between insulation and head space.

Yeah I think a pad would be nice to give me more head room also.

You can get that memory foam mattress topper in like 4 inches i think. You could prob sleep just on that. I used to sleep on that with a piece of plywood under it in college. Plus you can trim it to fit. Good stuff
