That jogs the memory, once rode in an AMX that had a six pack feeding either a 383 or a 360. Gas gauge dropped nearly as fast as the speedometer climbed.

    THAT jogs a memory...
Helped my uncle rebuild the 383 in his Coronet back when I was in high school. Put in a high-rise cam, hi compression heads/pistons, and forged everything. Ported and polished the intake and gave it headers into true duals that weren't quite straight-piped (had a pair of gutted flowmasters welded on there for if/when he got pulled over so he could say "look, it's got mufflers!"). Finished it off with a pair of Dual Quads, and at an (extremely lumpy) idle that engine would drink a 20oz Coke bottle of gas in 90 seconds.

Tuning those quads for a progressive open was a bitch, but at full throttle it'd push you back into your seat so hard that you almost couldn't breathe. And with all 8 barrels opened up, I'm sure the MPG was more like GPM.

Awesome car. 35 years ago it was the best rally car with most titles, due to short wheelbase + obscene power + light weight. 1.3l turbocharged mid-engine, output adjustable to 350HP from the cockpit. Car weighs just a tad over 2,000lbs.
Here's the history behind it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKIH7mjJle4

I think some of the r5s where twin charged, super charger and turbo like a tfsi vw engine.

Here is the follow up to the r5 turbo.... clio sport v6

    Dodge Town Wagon, circa 1960

Wanted one for years :D Almost bought a '59 D200 last year because I love that front end, but it just needed too much work for what they were asking for it, and they wouldn't budge on the price.

haha, I'm an old Dodge truck nut. :anonymous: Drives the girlfriend nuts because I'll drag her across a parking lot if I see one, I'll follow people I see driving them and pester them with questions when they park, I'll crawl all under them at shows, and basically embarrass her to death.
Plus I've got an '84 W150 plow rig, and I just picked up a '69 D100 this spring to start a slow restore on. She's not amused at my collecting a fleet, haha!

Any more recent shots of your Wagon?

The TW is torn apart right now, we are welding all new metal into the rear floor and fenders...lots of sandblasting, grinding, forming and welding.

We have a total of three vintage dodge trucks, the 62 Town Wagon, the 62 M37 Military Power Wagon, and the 68 Utiline, shortbed...So we try to keep them all running and in use. The TW has fallen out of use, but we are working slowing getting it back up. Mechanically it is great, but too much bad old body work.

I hear you on the amount of work involved in doing good sheet metal work. I have some body work that my '69 needs done and I'm not looking forward to the time I'll have to put into it to do it correctly. Makes me wish you could buy Dodge panels as readily as you can buy Chevy panels haha!
You must be on Sweptline.org, then, with a '68 Utiline. I've discovered quite a bit of useful info on there in the last few months.
