With the Pro Comp Stage 1 kit, I have a block and an AAL. Anyone know how much lift the AAL gives? I think the block is 2 or 3"?

Stage 1 is a 4" tapered block. After you remove them they make great wheel stops. :)

I don't think that PC AAL does shit...here is why - from the factory the truck has over 2" of rake low in the front. 6" drop bracket + a 4" block equals a level truck. 2" front / zero rear = level, 3" front / 1" rear = level, 4" front / 2" rear = level etc etc

You are going down a bad path there buddy, you can't go 8" without topping out your shocks, preloading the crap out of the CO's and a million other problems. The drop bracket is only designed to give you 6" of lift , anything more than that and you open up a can of worms. As far as the rear end goes You only need 4" of lift in the rear because from the factory the truck sits 2" + lower in the front - so 6" front and 4" rear is level to slightly low in the front. If your new leaf pack gives you 2" of lift then the best thing to do would be to only use a 2" block. With a 2" block you will have far less driveline issues, less axle wrap and less lateral movement in the leaves.

Wait ! I was wrong, the AAL could actually be why everyone runs into so many problems with trying to level out the truck after a PC lift. 4" block plus 1" AAL puts the ass end up too high...then everyone ends up pre loading the CO's to level the truck out. 6" front with only 4" block should be level....go measure the rake on a stock Taco you'll see what I'm trying to say here...

The procomp stage one should come with a 2.5 block. Unsure of what actual lift you get from the add a leaf.

I have the Procomp stg 2,mine came with the AAL and block. I thought it was a 2" not 2.5",but I'm probably wrong. I was going to use my Dakars and the block, but went with the AAL for now. I may swap the OME leafs in later, but doing that will probably add a 1/2" or so and be raked.

You are absolutely right, and I'm not fond of the blocks either. I was thinking I could get away with it but I was doing some thinking and I don't think I will use them. I plan to fab up some shackle reversal brackets and use my OME springs and maybe a slightly longer shackle if need be. But I will avoid the use of the blocks at all costs. Besides I don't really want more than 6" of lift. My wife is 5'3" and she already had a hard enough time getting in the darn thing. I also have dogs that need to be able to jump up in to the truck.
