Takes fuel to haul fuel. Why not just buy a pickup aux tank put it in the bed when your done take it out 18 gallon tank (more fuel advantage than the $2000 tank) for a shade over $200?

Space. Space is at a premium on this platform.

Tank will be closer to 1300 us after it is all said and done.

Why not an aux tank. Space. In the spare tire area, there is water, propane and air tanks. In the bed, there is a stove, fridge and enough gear for the 6 of us in a short bed. On the roof, gear and 10 gal fuel.

Takes gas to haul gas. Noted, and taken into consideration.

Range. Yes. Correct. There are gas stations all over. Most of our driving is nite time and we find fewer stations open. Plus would be nice to not stop as often as we do to fuel up when traveling.

Plans are to not just travel USA, would like to go as far north and far south as we can in North America and south america eventually.

Not the mod for everyone. Hopefully these ARE the right tanks for our platform and are just bolt on.

Rotopacks. Space and capacity. I'm not loosing space swapping my 21gal for the 35gal tank that I wasn't already using for fuel. I also feel the rotopacks are an interesting design, however less efficient use of space and diminished capacity.

Price of fuel in the last month locally has fluxuated .70

It was actually a little more than that. At one point, 2.07 now 2.99 for regular.

In our travels, on the same day, went through various states. In bordering states there was as much as a .55 price swing and from starting state to destination within a 18 hr window, there was more than $1 swing.

Sometimes it is not the range of fuel TODAY but the price of that fuel over a period of time. In reserve, when gas went to 2.07 locally. I stored 70gal ish.

So far, the company LRA has been great to work with. Assurances that is is in fact a bolt up solution, and minor customizations like paint color have been a breeze.

2 weeks to build and 36 days in transit.

how about center of gravity? the more heavy liquids you store up high in bed and on roof the more top heavy you would be. this would make better use of the space down low

That also. Was planning on moving the cans off the roof and doing something different with them.

People questioned me on my choice for a BBK also. It is one of the most neglected systems on the vehicle. More surface area is better than the more AGRESSIVE pad. We armor and add weight to our vehicles. We loose stopping power, fuel range, and power due to the HP/Weight ratio.

Slowly I am balancing resolutions to each of these attributes to anyone modding a vehicle on my build.

There's also that friend everyone has. You know, the one that says, "Give me a ride to xxxxx, I'll fill up your tank for you." Capitalizing on free fuel?..... :spy:

    Form and function.

I live 19 miles from the gas station. That means 2 gallons just to go home and come back. Who wants to stop at the gas station more than they have to? And you don't get 400 miles when pulling your camping trailer...

My truck is only 18 gallons. Pulling my little trailer accross the west I get 13 mpg. So, larger tank makes sense. I usually just haul extra tanks in the bed. But, it would be nice to have a bigger tank
