A little background... i was born and raised in California.. so by default i love In n Out.. but since joining the military i was able to taste what America has to offer.. i havent tried everything yet.. but im that type of guy that would eat anything. You cant say you dont like it if you havent tried it.. thats what i think.. well here we go.. so tonight was my first night eating at five guys
    IMG00018-20091013-1859_e729e28b320e07628343064e4c2dd212ca5ca195.jpg

Doesnt look to fancy.. i noticed there wasnt a drive thru...

When i went inside i was amazed at how long the line was.... i waited for approx 20 minutes... but they had these in line

    IMG00019-20091013-1905_6cb89f58144567ede7d3bc00467643d11572dc11.jpg

    yep peanuts..

Here is what Five guys had to offer

    IMG00021-20091013-1908_2c0020f70f094bbb5b2297cd66317a8b92930588.jpg

i guess they sell hot dogs also.. i went with the bacon cheeseburger it seems like they have the same mentality as In N Out.. freshness of ingridients

    my order is ready

    IMG00022-20091013-1924_1d7cbdb3a81c3e8259d24a3110e8cff1a23af4ba.jpg

    greasy bag... =/

couldnt really get my burger out.. it was buried below the massive amount of fries they gave me

    IMG00023-20091013-1924_868b9d0034b679c6c61f02dad955e34e3bed3fc1.jpg

so i had to rip the bag, this is how the burger looked like
    IMG00024-20091013-1925_5e366b925621694f51804509b1f5fc8c838010fe.jpg

and after a few bites in i decided to take another picture

    IMG00025-20091013-1927_a7f14b167ddc390fbc8157af2125ae715fcb4ee6.jpg

i finished the burger and had to say its good...

now the comparison.. i like In N Out.. and this Five Guys burger was amazing... but for some reason when i ate the burger from FG it felt really fattening.. lol.. In N Out not so much... i enjoyed the cajun fries that came with the FG burger.. but in my opinion the fries were a little to thick for my liking.. im leaning more towards the In N Out fries.. i tried ketchup and malt vinegar with the FG fries... man that wasnt good.... maybe its an acquired taste.. i couldnt finish the fries though.. but good point to add, they really give you alot...

As of right now.. i havent eaten at In N Out for about a year..... Im going to San Deigo in about 3 weeks and ill make a write up for In N Out

this is my opinion so far.. i like the FG burger over In N Out.. not really fond of the fattening feeling... but i think it taste better...but i like In N Out Fries alot better than FG's

more to come in the following weeks

I went into the In and Out in Lake Havasu City while I was on vacation. It was spring break week and there was a few kids in there in bikinis. One had on a cowboy hat and a bikini about the size of 3 bandaids. I don't remember much about the burger... I went to 5 Guys in Mystic CT last winter. Snowy day, about 20 degrees. That was a good burger.

Never heard of In & Out - obviously, we don't have them here.

Five Guys is awesome - but a bit expensive for what it is. I still go there once in a while. We have two of them in my area. Never heard of the cajun fries - maybe that's something they've added to the menu? Or not in this area?

We have Fuddruckers here also and their bugers are awesome especially since you can 'dress' the burger yourself. Comparable to FG prices.

Nothing beats a burger at a local sports bar though......
