It's hit or miss though with what kind of group you get hooked up with. I've had pretty good luck out of it but every once in a while you get in with a group of dicks. The one thing I like about the 100 is you put in all your info and it matches you with like minded players. I've had a lot more fun in the game since I joined that site since most everyone I've met on there has been extremely cool. Everyone is pretty laid back that I've played with. It's also kind of fun running people through the raids that have never been before. Takes a little bit of the pressure off them.

Nothing makes me rage more then the Iron Banner lag right now. I have been having border line aneurysm's when I blatantly make direct contact with another player with my storm fist on my Titan and it does not even register the hit and they end up killing me. Or when myself and another player are locked in a gun fight and the hits are not registering and they kill me.

20 more points and I'll hit rank 4 again so I can get my IB Titan helmet and be done with that BS. Lol.

Then I can righteously reclaim my Armamentarium chest back and use it regularly again, yet still be rank 32.

 

Thing is... are the stats on the helm you get better than the raid helm? Or are they randomly generated like the helms you get out of the raid? I've run Crota more times than I care to admit and have changed out so many different armor pieces to get the best stats I can. Just because you grind out the IB doesn't mean there isn't a better helm out there. I could be wrong since I haven't actually looked at the stats of the IB helm.

 

Best thing about IB Helm, well there are two. One. Helmets are rare to drop on Crota. I yet to have a Helm for my Hunter and I had the game since launch. 2. No radiant shards to level. And the perks are better for Crucible then Crota helm.

 

Gotcha. Yeah, It took me forever to get the helms for my Titan but my helms for both WL's dropped like candy. Finally started to get the Titan helms to drop and I've got all my armor / stats built around each character. There is honestly nothing more that I can do to make my characters any better (stat wise) than they are now. I would love to play IB if it were going all the time but the limited time events just doesn't appeal to me. IB "needs" to be going all the time since there really isn't anything to do in the game. I run VoG again now since you will be able to level up the armor and weapons once HoW's comes out. I despise how the Crota armor looks. VoG armor looks so much better IMO. And I wan't a fucking Fatebringer. That is the only weapon I don't have in the game (not including IB weapons). Ran it 3 times this week on HM and it didn't drop for anyone each time. I'd also take my third Mythoclast or GH.

 

Just checked the stats on the IB helm for my WL and they completely suck compared to what I've got now. No thanks. I do like the chest piece though it's not better it definitely "looks" better.

 

Im doing it just for the practice since the Trials of Osiris gear looks cool and I want a chance to get it.

 

So does all the rest of the gear. I'm more about stats that improve my character more than anything. So I've got a cool looking piece of armor but the stats suck. Nah... not for me.

 

Just noticed this. Just checked my inventory and I've got over 60 radiant shards so leveling a piece of armor isn't a issue with me.

looks like the way the upgrade system is now going to work, that you'll be able to upgrade anything to "max light" so no more having everyone at max light look like clones

 

Exactly. That's why I'm running VoG again (besides I think it's the best raid in the game: not saying much since Crota sucks) but I wan't the armor from that so I can level it up. I was stupid and deleted all my VoG armor since I thought it wouldn't be useful anymore after Crota came out. That would have been nice to know beforehand. Also the new armor coming out might look good also. The ability to mix and match armor / weapons is a big plus as long as the stats of the armor / weapons match what I'm looking for. I've dismantled I don't know how many sets of Crota to finally get the sets I want for all my characters. The same will hold true for the HoW's. I'm not one to do IB to pick up a shitty helm that has worse stats than what I'm wearing right now just to show off in the tower.

I haven't noticed a difference statistically between the Oblivion helmet I normally use from FWC for my Titan vs. The IB helmet. Then again i'm not looking at stats and im looking more at the perks, which are virtually the same. Running with my Oblivion helm, I kick just as much ass in the Crucible then with any other helmet.

 

My Hunter is stuck at level 28. I was bored with him so I started a Warlock. He's at level 15 at the moment and so much better than the Hunter in the game IMO.

 

Yeah but you're running level 33 helmets (with the exception of the IB helm). All the others suck in comparison. Crucible doesn't matter as all stats are equal there are no tangible rewards other than a random exotic drop so crucible is useless in my opinion if you want to be level 32. Other than running crucible just to kill others then yeah... go for it. But there are no rankings like in Halo so it is a useless part of the game IMO. IB a least lets you get raid quality gear but you have to look at the stats to make your character better rather than just having a helm with shitty stats. So you might have a helm out of IB but in reality a helm out of Crota will offer you better stats since you can pick and choose the ones you want each time you run assuming you get the helm to drop.

 

Im predominantly a Crucible player so the stats to me are not of a huge importance. Yes it matters, but im not going to nitpick.
