Help me? Please. Right now I am sitting in a gas station parking lot and there's a rubber belt all shredded and broken under the hood.i I have help on the way, but I want to know what up with my truck.

Yesterday I had the serpentine belt replaced. There was a squealing noise and we weren't sure which belt was slipping, so they replaced the serpentine belt and they said there's another belt that could probably stand to be changed (113k miles on my truck).

I don't know which belt is which. I only see one, which is broken and it is right behind the radiator, you can see it below the oil filter. Is that the serpentine belt or whatever the other belt is?

Sorry for awkward and stupid questions, I don't know what's what here and I don't really trust the shop I took it to (didn't know their reputation until afterward) so trying to see if I should just cut my losses and take it somewhere else or what.

That's the serpentine belt your looking at. Either one of the pulleys it rides on is messed up or your mechanic screwed up, probably the latter.
The timing belt is the other belt and its inside the engine (not visible). That has nothing to do with your shredded serpentine belt.

 

It has a timing chain, for sure. So there's no other belt then, only the serpentine?

I'm curious because I specifically asked the shop yesterday if it had two belts in addition to the timing chain and they said yes. So if that's not the case I'm taking it somewhere else for replacement and getting my money back from the original shop.

I went there once and had to return twice for them to adjust my brakes properly. Now this. I'm so mad.
