If I was in town this weekend, I would head over there and do a clean-up... Gonna be Off-Island

 

Roy's Waikiki is really good. For seafood, I like Suntory restaurant at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. It's pricy but well worth it and tasty. Sushi ii or Sushi Gaku is my favorite places. Hike up Diamond Head (of course) or the Makapuu trail (it's paved and relatively easy). Try to make reservations if you want to go these food places now....it gets booked pretty quickly. Have fun & enjoy the island.

 

X2 What Huli said. But a bit pricey... Not sure if Makapu'u trail is open yet??? It was being resurfaced recently...

Anybody get their state tax refund yet? Mine was sent in digitally back in March and still no refund.

Really? I didn't think too highly of that place. Definitely not taking the wife out for her birthday kind of place, IMO. I ate there a couple of times, but if I'm ever going to palolo, I'd go the place next door to it. Your Kitchen. Hole in the wall with this pork bowl... Basically slow simerred chunks of fatty pork over rice with a soft boiled, then panko crusted, and deep fried egg in the middle. Fatty goodness. Miso ahi and pork are good too.

 

It was the same time that they blocked of the beach access with the huge boulders and bulldozed the main rd flat.

 

Still waiting as well. Federal is fast, state takes a few months.

 

Brah, just tried this place a couple weekends ago. The Pork & Oyako Donburi Bowls...so fricken ono (had da shave ice after too)!!

 

Nicos pier 38 is always good lunch or dinner or Mitch's sushi by the airport is good

 

I went to that place but ended up eating somewhere else because I never had cash. Cash only over there.

Nicos is good (but more casual) I love Hiroshi's in Restaurant row (not super fancy, but great seafood).

As far as that North Shore place, I don't know about that, but "Your Kitchen" (hole in the wall take-out place) has that pork bowl which is worth the heart attack...

Or definitely like someone said.. charter a fishing boat, catch a Mahi, give me a call, and I'll cook you and your wife Mahi in 2 separate ways... Just bring enough to share.. lol..
