    I'm open to any time for this run. A good area to meet at is Peggy Sue's Diner in Yermo (town after Barstow.) We can make the run as short or as long as you want. The hardest part of the run for 2WD trucks would be the mojave riverbed before Afton Canyon. It's pretty sandy and soft but if you keep your speed/momentum up and only stop on the hard pack areas you will be fine. Thing is you don't really have to stop at all until you get to the railroad undercrossing but there are a few area's along that way that are pretty cool for pictures. After that portion of the trail it is not as soft. We also have the option to skip that part and go all the way to Afton canyon on a semi graded road. I myself am 2WD so unless we have at least 1 4x4 commited to the run we would skip the first part of the river bed. But in my opinion the river bed is a lot of fun. There are plenty of roads that will take you back to the 15 freeway after you exit the mojave river valley for anyone that doesn't want to do a round trip on the trail. A Ham radio is a huge plus for safety out there.
