changing the sprocket will in essence change the gearing, which will either create lower gearing (quicker of the line) or higher gearing (higher top speed).

Very possible something I don't know, so, please tell me how chaning a sprocket can give both?

turning higher RMPS... far more expensive than re-gearing

Ok, yea, there are many things to do to make a bike faster, but...

The original comment by Rmodel was to swap the sprockets from an 883 to his 1200.

I asked 'how it would be faster, off the line or top speed, can't have both', which would depend on more or less teeth in the sprocket.

My confusion came when curtis said you can have both, but I don't see how a simple sprocket change will give both.

Turns out, he was thinking of making OTHER changes, not just the sprocket.

All cleared up now, and we are both right, but my original question never got answered. Looked it up, switching from an 1200 front sprocket (29 teeth) to a 883 front sprocket (27 teeth) will give it beter acceleration off the line.

Weird thing about those EG's, the fairing/head lights are stationary. They remain pointing straight while you lean into turns. Wonder how that would be riding at night.

    Nope. It's a 2015 Road Glide.

It's like any other bike that doesn't have a fairing that moves with the bars. Even when you are making a complete turn the lights still stay with you as you turn. And the new Day Maker lights will light up the world. I always get lights blinked at me becuase they think I've got my high beams on. Most peolpe that don't like the Road Glides are guys that are just use to riding Street Glides, Ultra Classics or Elictra Glides.
