What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Does feel slow to me today. Takes about 3-4 seconds to post after I hit the button which is not normal for me..no info is dropped though.

 

Shouldn't have to loctite them. I went with new bolts, torqued properly, and then marked them with a paint pen. I check periodically to see if they've loosed, but they haven't budged at all.

 

I'll always loctite them after having mine bite the dust on OEM one. And having to repair jons on the trail that lost 3 bolts, 2 from one side and 1 from the other on a trip the year before.

It's a good safety precaution. Should be nessiscary with how many failures there are all the time.

I loctite them too... easy enough to break free if needed, but extra peace of mind.

as you should, you might gain 3 mpg.

 

Haha i wish, I don't think i could ever do anything to improve my MPG that much.

 

its still crazy how you get worse mpg than me.

You may be right. I can't remember if I red loctited them or not. I'm 90% sure I did though. This whole thing has turned into a cluster fuck. I've got it rolling but it turns out the spare CV I have isn't for a Tacoma so I'm 2wd u too the morning. And I was only able to get two bolts in the new LBJ because the one bolt was broke off in the spindle and another fucked the threads in the spindle when it pulled out. I'm going to get an ease out when I go get the new CV in the morning and hopefully we can tap new threads in the other hole.

 

I think its a mix of everything auto, armor/weight, bad vapor canister, aggressive driver, needs alignment(waiting for a new steering rack), probably need wheel balancing, hilly area..

City/hwy yes. Though not much hwy. I drive it like an old grandma though

 

Nothing aggressive. Pretty tame at. Don't even know what they are called.

Get 21-22 hwy consistently.

 

Every time I see a drop in MPGs. I just put in a new air filter and it's good as new

 

Plot thickens... Just sheared the new bolts trying to get pulled out of the trail I was on. In a worse spot than before.
