hmmm..odd. I guess you could have blown the outer part of a HG. But id think youd still get some mixture.

Id offer to buy it :D...but im broke

Sounds like the truck is in limp mode. No codes or anything though?

I still throw the stupid knock sensor codes every now and then, but haven't thrown any other ones. A new ecu didn't help that issue. I reset the cel every time it comes on so I get rid of the limp mode. It just feels like a 4 cylinder pulling a trailer.

Pretty common knowledge that Toyotas need Dexron ATF in the power steering. And not just Tacomas. My old '84 4runner, my wife's '92 Lexus, my 2001 Corolla. They all require Dexron ATF. Its also stamped right on the PS fill cap. Mentioned in the owners manual, etc.

Not sure when this started, and not sure if its still required in newer Toyotas.

I drive my truck like a red headed step child. Lots of boost and high rpms. Oh well. I'm going with a v8 and better transmission next, but it won't get done this year.

Nice! I'd love to see that. What V8 do you think you'll go with?

A Lexus or tundra v8 probably. Or maybe an ls1 or even a diesel. Or drop in another 5vz and sell the truck. It depends on a lot of things.
