What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

No, the new emblems are vinyl. The old ones weren't looking to good so i just replaced them. Came out better than i thought.

 

Yeah it's a 62.. Think it looks good.. pretty sturdy overall might need to reinforce the center if I put some heavy weight on it

 

Nice. My basket is no longer glossy black. It fades really fast. I may pull it off and respray the wind fairing and tubes. I thought about doing something to the middle of mine also. It sags with the weight of a tire up there, but it hasn't broken and the tire hasn't budged so I guess it is holding the weight fine. It was a little unnerving at first.

Mine are all mangled. Some have the chrome flaking off.
Where'd you get em? I did a quick google search. I saw some new sets on eBay.

Looks like my excitement got the best of me..Ha oh well might be able to sell it to a friend with an elocker or my buddy with a samurai it looked about perfect on the back of that thing

 

If it isn't the fuse, then it is the fusible link. The fusible link is a tiny grey wire that connects the cig lighter contacts on the back of cig lighter socket.

 

No problem, had the same issue earlier this year. My heater core had decided to completely take a crap and I was freezing in 20 degree weather, so I decided to get a cheapo truck stop cig lighter powered heater. It worked awesome for about twenty minutes then it just stopped, I checked the cig lighter fuse and it was still good. Got home and tore the bottom dash piece out and the little fusible link had no continuity. Just soldered a normal piece of 16 gauge wire in place of it. I figure if there is something amiss the normal fuse should still blow. Finally replaced the stupid heater core too (that's an annoying job) and you could easily cook things in the cab with the temps I can reach now.

Man that sucks.. Is there no way to grind it down in a few places to make it fit or something? Would be cool if you got it to work cause then us 8.4"ers could get em too lol.
