If you are on a budget and that's the price range you have, you are pretty much stuck with something from HF, Tractor Supply, Lowes, etc. They are low quality and when it breaks they do not make parts for them and generally they do not honor warranty's. Thats a "better" HF unit as it's not an oil-less unit, so like you said the Pump will be quieter. It will run an impact for short burst's but not extended periods of time. You might be better off getting an electric 1/2" impact. It will have more power than an impact running off that air compressor at 90psi.

Edit: I sell air compressors and I refuse to sell cheap units. I only sell units that are manufactured in the USA. That being said, when I used to sell "cheap" units, I would only sell Emglo's. They are by far the best I have come across.

This is one thing I was concerned about.. I know they dont have parts.. but again.. I wont be using it a ton except for minor projects and the truck. figured its a good beginner compressor for a beginner mechanic/first time home buyer. lol appreciate the info.

this! one of my new favorite places..

how does he open the hood? Or is it mounted to the underside of the hood?

As for the compressor. Buy a good one and take care of it, it will last you 30 years or more. My craftsman was built in 1992 and it works fantastic.

That would be my call. I only buy stuff from Harbor Freight knowing it won't last long. Hell I've been through 4 grinders from HF, got a cheap craftsman and its been fine for 3 years now.

It's not like you need to learn how to use a compressor. If you do sell your truck now and submit your man card at the front desk!

I'd say spend more, buy something that will last. My compressor is almost as old as me.

just sucks.. wasnt an expected expense so thats why I was looking at the HF one.. for something similar.. im looking at around 400-500. which just isnt in the cards right now. that 160 price tag for the HF one is tho.. guess i can just try and hold out and save up.

Too me a compressor is one of the best investments in the garage and its gets a lot of use. I'd rather save up and spend 500$ for a good one that will last 30 years vs buying one for 150$ that might last a year or 2.

My dad got a cool portable compressor. He uses it for a lot of things and he can even paint with it. I can get the model number for you.

yeah I hear ya. believe me.. with all the re-doing of stuff (stereo, home theater, truck, etc) I would love to just buy once, cry once.. but right now its tough.. so that 160, and the fact it checks all the boxes on my list.. its tempting. lol ill probably hold off. been looking on CL too.. but im thinking just buying new is the best bet. warranty, no hidden issues, etc.

Hate to break it to ya, but $500 still only buy's ya a POS air compressor. If you want something that is going to last you 30years in your garage your gonna be at a $1000 and up easy.

If your just using it for a impact pick up the 50 dollar harbor freight electric impact and save for a good compressor those electric impacts are freaking awesome haha

And I have that HF compressor at work its ok but i wouldn't buy one

Wonder if it's a Samsung thing :notsure: HTC phones on Verizon can use data and voice at the same time, doesn't matter who you call.

    Peer pressure
iphone 6 and 6+ were the first phones on Verizon that can do voice and data at the same time, most of the phones coming out since then have it added too

Wait those were the first Apple phones through Verizon that do voice and data, it looks like some Samsung phones do and some don't, idk
