I found this news, the pictures are amazing, the tribe members are actually pointing their bows at the helicopter or aircraft!!!

    http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/un...d-in-the-amazon/2008/05/30/1211654270140.html

One of Brazil's last uncontacted Indian tribes has been spotted in the far western Amazon jungle near the Peruvian border.

The Indians were sighted in an Ethno-Environmental Protected Area along the Envira River in flights over remote Acre state.

Funai said it photographed "strong and healthy" warriors, six huts and a large planted area. But it was not known to which tribe they belonged.

Funai does not make contact with the Indians and prevents invasions of their land, to ensure "total autonomy" for the isolated tribes, the foundation said.

There are more than 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, most of them in Brazil and Peru, the group said in a statement.

"These pictures are further evidence that uncontacted tribes really do exist," Survival director Stephen Corry said.

"The world needs to wake up to this and ensure that their territory is protected in accordance with international law. Otherwise, they will soon be made extinct."

Strange, we are talking about Trucks, oil, stuff, and this people live in autonomy, they eat what they can hunt, they have their own beliefs, amazing.....

I read that story earlier to day at work. I think it would be amazing to live like them (and like all of our ancestors) for just 6 months.

Its quite disturbing, all this technology in this century, and there are still people living in the cave age........makes you think how big is this world and how uncommunicated we still are

Yep the third pic speaks for itself, the red painted guys pointing their bows at the aircraft, and the other guy just looking... simply amazing, almost like watching a game of ago of empires....

i think its kind of neat how despite the fact that they are uncontacted...and how many different societies there have been across the world over time...hunting and protection has always started with spears and bows and arrows

its just amazing to me how similar all these different tribes across the world and time come up with essentially the same technology at some point...without the internet or contact or anything

Thats right, they came up with the same ideas, for hunting and protection, also their buildings.... maybe its just the common sense on the human being....

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure flying a helicopter 50 feet over their heads is making contact. :)

IMO they should be left alone and remain free of modern headaches like internet porn and taxes.

but, they will most likely be molested by scientists and their happy little world will end in National Geographic specials and visiting reporters like so many isolated tribes before them.:(

It would be cool to be an isolated tribesman! all you do is hunt, have sex, and relax..... no commutes, no war, no aids, no clothing.... just a sharp pointy stick to hunt with and a funky lookin' woman with no concept of "good looks" (maybe a loincloth)!

Amen. Soon some adventurous souls will descend upon these people to "save" them from their "godless" way of life because of the media attention.

I think it's pretty cool that in this day and age, there are groups of people still living the way they did hundreds of years ago.

But you got to think, after a while, the amount of non family versus family shrinks and eventually everyone's related to each other. Kind've like that X-files show about the inbreds.
