It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
Wow, you guys, that was so super cool. We just got a personal behind the scenes tour of our new forever favorite Toyota dealership, in the tech bays!! Wow, that was awesome!! Everything TOYOTA everywhere you look!! Felt like a kid in a candy store in there! Such a nice place! Gave the cinnamon rolls to noahpete and went for a brief walk with jayman. Came back to noahpete within 5 minutes tops, and every Toyota tech within a 100 foot radius of him and those cinnamon rolls was scarfing one down at warp speed. Heard one guy finish his last bite and say, "Ohhhhh, I don't want to work now!" :) The cook takes that as a compliment! :) Was a pretty cool thing for me to see them disappear so fast, considering my "owning a bakery someday" dream! ;) Just hope noahpete and jayman got some of the yummiest looking ones before everyone else did - they sure have earned them!!

Then it was time to start her up and be on our way. As you all know, Eric and I have experienced that same moment more than once - that moment of all of the anticipation and hope in the world running through our heads as we turn the key to drive away. Don't want to jinx it, and I LOVE noahpete's cautious approach to view this week as nothing more than just a test of what we suspect/hope to be the culprit, BUT.........................

    Drumroll please....................

Showroom start leaving there, followed by exchanges of some seriously massive smiles and some seriously enthusiastic thumbs ups, and a very, very happy drive home for lovemytacolots. Cannot stop smiling. :D

And now I'm home. Might take a drive soon. We did let noahpete know that our long term plan is to head for the border with his injectors. He felt OK about this, because we agreed that the cinnamon rolls made it an even trade.......

For reals though........the kindness that noahpete and jayman and all of our TW buddies have shown us is making us so happy now that it's starting to outweigh the misery of being taken advantage of by the other people. Not to get too sappy for you guys, but I gotta say it - my heart is filled with a whole lot more happiness and gratitude and positive vibes than it has been in a very long time. Pretty awesome

1 hr 30 min start after driving - perfect
1 hr start after driving - perfect

    :D

PS - and I didn't have to pop the hood, or spray water at it, or stand on my head while speaking Swahili to the Taco to make it start normally either! She did it all by herself

That part of my life was a few years ago the closest to cooking she ever got was running for Pizza or driving past the grocery store.

The worse part is she didn`t like Dogs!!

Gotcha. Yep, that's a deal breaker then. I don't trust anyone that doesn't like dogs, dogs are the best thing ever (with Tacos being a close 2nd, right TW?) !!!

EDIT: Holy cow. Just noticed what post # we are on........it's coming up quick!

Sounds like your ordeal is finally over, aside from the financial side...so to sum it up, the "rebuilt engine" was installed with damaged sensors, a terrible valve job and leaking injectors...and the mechanics who installed it refused to make it "right" even though they KNEW what work they didn't do? Those guys give everyone in the business a bad name.

Couldn't agree more, and I know lots of others share those same thoughts, hetkind. You know I feel that way, you've seen me rant on here more than once about it over the past 4 months!! :D I spent a LOT of time being angry/depressed about it. VERY angry. It sucks to trust someone with something that major, and be repeatedly reassured that everything will be top quality, etc, then to go through what we have after the fact. And on top of it, to find out that they just did not care one way or the other what the hell happened to us and the Taco, not long after they'd been paid, even when they were well aware we were having problems that we didn't even have before they worked on it. Feeling suckered like that - definitely makes ya angry. But I'm finally starting to let go of some of that, because it just wasn't doing anyone any good, least of all myself. Don't worry though, we are doing something about it. Most definitely. The financial side, as well as reporting to Better Business Bureau. I hate thinking of someone else dealing with what we have. And it's true, it doesn't just affect the customer that got screwed, it also affects all the people that try to help after the fact, and affects others working in that same field because betrayed customers become less trusting, and it's just a bad, bad cycle. Boy, did we get lucky to finally have found the right people to help after the fact!! Still in disbelief at our good fortune on that :) The world just doesn't look as heartless as it did a few months ago to me anymore....:)

And now, I am just so very happy that I can finally start focusing on enjoying the Taco again, and get that unpleasant financial part of things over and done with! That will be a HUGE relief. And summer's right around the corner too!! Things are definitely looking up. :)

Koditten, I LOVE your plan. Brilliant! :D Better go :burnrubber:to the liquor store!! :)

the game is over, you missed it all.

crazy electrode taco from hell is fixed now and everything that was wrong with it was all due to engine guy committing negligence, fraud, and outright deceptive practices.

Looking very likely that you called it TenBeers, along with countless others on the thread that have suspected leaky injectors time and again. They kept passing on the machines, but noahpete and jayman had the brilliance to borescope and see them leaking, in spite of what the machine tests said. (Side note: don't know how many times I've kicked myself for not finding these guys in December! They rock!). Then noahpete went way above and beyond and offered to put his own injectors (identical match) into the Taco to let us be completely sure they are truly the sole culprit before committing to replacing something expensive. Picked it up this morning, and so far she has started like she used to before the engine swap every time. Looking pretty likely that we'll be the proud owners of a brand new shiny set of Toyota injectors soon - best money we'll have spent since day one, because we'll know once and for all that it's the right call, thanks to two very determined, brilliant, generous people. And the current status is: noahpete probably has a stomachache from eating too many cinnamon rolls :cookiemonster:, Eric & I can't stop smiling :D, and life is looking pretty damn good again. :)
