I have a set sitting here I've been dragging my feet installing. They where ordered welded but appear to not have any provisions for the inside upper shock bolt as Brian found...

when i first tested my winch, i ended up ripping out the stump that i was tethered to. thank goodness i didn't actually need it. A friend and i were just seeing how much amperage the winch drew,
got it up to 200 till the stump gave out.

Looking at getting my windows tinted soon. Just wondering if anyone has gone past the legal limit here in WA and hasn't been hassled or what you went with. Match the front windows to the back or go a hair darker? I've got factory tint AFAIK, which from what I've read is 20% on the rear windows and no tint up front. I think per rcw's the rear passenger windows on a DC can be whatever but the front driver and passenger have to be 35%? Or is it 25%?

I was also curious about tint and where a good place to go is in the Puyallup area. Im looking at tinting all my windows beyond 20%.

I had an awesome review once for a place in Puyallup. I'll look it up again in a bit. Weekday and cash only. Guy uses a heat gun on your car to make sure the tint seals properly

I've got a buddy who suggested a guy, he's used him for his last few trucks, but I'm lost on what to get done.

Nope. I live in Renton and work at boeing field for the AF.

We lived in auburn for a bit, and the wife wanted me to use that place on her old car.

I have 5% all around. Love love love it. Never bothered but I do live in ellensburg haha. We all have dark tint around here. The cops are cool with it.

The legal limit in Washington for the front driver and passenger window is 22%. Given that, you won't get hassled for 20 and you could probably get away with 15%. Although I've heard cops can be sticklers about it on the west side...

For what it's worth, I have 15 on my front windows (that's what the idiot who tinted them said the factory back windows were...) and the factory 20 in the rear. My wife has 15 all around on her car, and neither of us have ever been pulled over for it.

That said, I am a firm believer in that if you keep your vehicles presentable and drive like a responsible adult, you don't get pulled over. Our cars are always spotless, we use our turn signals, and adhere to the speed limits (usually).

My 4Runner is just ASKING to get pulled over... Illegal tint, no front license plate, no mud flaps... Hasn't happened yet. Other than once leaving a bar because my license plate light was too bright/rear facing/illegal. AKA he wanted to know if I was drunk.

Oh okay Renton isnt to far from me. My wife worked out there for a little bit and I have some friends that live up there.
How is 5% Dakota? It doesnt feel too dark? I was thinking about 10-15%.

I know you didn't ask me, but I honestly think 15 is too dark, and wish mine were 20... In poorly lit parking lots/neighborhoods it can be pretty tough to see. Especially with the reflection of the dash lights, nav screen, etc on the windows. I cannot imagine 5.

If you click the link and then zoom in, this old picture shows the difference between front and back pretty well, I think.

I was asking anyone with an opinion on it really haha.
You can definitely see a difference in the two windows. Also need something that will reflect the sun well. I bet it can be tough to see on dark streets or parking lots. But might just try it and see if I personally like it or not. I do think 5 would be insanely hard to see, especially if its raining hard and dark out.

I read on here that the rears are actually 30% but 20% for the front windows makes them match perfectly because the windshield lets in a ton of light, makes sense to me.

I have my fronts tinted to 20%, would I like to have them at 5%? yeah because I hate people being able to look into my truck. But you still can't see anything out the windows at night unless its well lighted, when ever I have to back up at night I always put my window down. I would do 20% if I were to do it again
