I know alot of you have took out your brench seat . I want to know if a 02' Landrover Freelander SE 4x4 seats will fix into my 2004 tacoma reg cab ? And how much trouble will it be , I was hoping that it would bolt in to the same holes ? Can I still use the seat belt in it ? Thank for any help you can give .

if your up to a drive, do you want a factory OEM original Tacoma drivers bucket seat and a console from a 4runner that fits with a little modification to the bottom edge to remove a little extra plastic to make the bottom edge straight? (the 4runner hump has a dip in it)

I was all set to do a bucket seat conversion from my 60/40 bench seats in my 99 but I ended up trading it in for an 04 taco

I can let you have both for $100 if your interested, im in laplace which is just a few miles outside new Orleans so from Arkansas its several hours drive but the seat is too heavy to ship

oh well, the only seats I am aware of that will work are 3rd gen 4runner seats from 96-00 with sr5 packages and those you will need to drill or grind off the front outside corner leg and swap it with the one from your seat but the other 3 mounting legs are direct bolt in fit.

good luck with it but if your working 7 days? nothing will bolt directly in except an original taco bucket seat and those are as rare as women who don't complain lol.

I just bought a '95 and of course the seats are trash. They are to far gone for just seat covers as the foam has taken a hit too. Any suggestions on replacements They are the 60/40 split, but I don't care if I replaced them with 50/50. I just can't find any seats for a first gen. Thanks for any help.

check the T100 forum for older trucks and they must have a list of seats people used, the 96-04 tacos have the rear inside mounts sideways mounting to the hump and not the floor.

if yours mount all 4 to the floor then you just need to drill new holes where needed and you can mount any seat you want in them. just make sure you get folding seats for rear access if you have extended cab

Thanks for the reply. My '95 has the inside bolts mounted to the hump, not flat to the floor. I found some seat covers, but they are over $200 and the seat foam isn't good enough to spend that and put them on marginal seats. I and going to see if I can find two regular, folding buckets that will mount in their place. I think the 1st gen. trucks have that in the later years.

check your seats. the backs just unbolt and the bottoms unbolt as just the seat cushion so you might be able to swap your seat frames to the new seat cushion and seat back. the 4runner seats backs and seat bottoms are the same as the tacomas as well.

I just recently swapped out seat backs and seat cushions from a 4runner to make my taco seats look like new again. as luck would have it I traded it in last week for a v6 taco but the seat upgrade was easy to do.

as I mentioned above, its for sale along with a center console

the seat and console are brown, its just the drivers seat only without the headrest but if you have 60/40 seats you already have the passenger bucket seat there in your truck.

if I tried to ship the seat it would cost around $40 im guessing because its so big but if your interested I could look into it

I have the oak interior. My driver side is trashed and the center console lid is torn up as well. I'll get a picture in a sec.

well if you can find a passenger seat from a Tacoma or a 3rd gen 4runner and everything swaps right out and bolts to your seat frame so thats another option for you as well

the straight bench is a too soft very unsupportive seat like an old bed spring matress

the 60/40 seat is a nice supportive seat with more padding that has a fold down arm rest built into the back of the drivers seat but the seat is still a solid back with the arm rest folded down so you have no access to reach the back seat with it.

just like the 60/40 seats, the buckets are nice and support you well and are comfortable, I had them with no console and to be honest I wasn't in a hurry to put in a console since it was nice to be unrestricted.

the 60/40 seats from the 01-04 trucks don't have the solid back so when the arm rest is folded down on those, it feels and looks just like bucket seats with console and the arm rest opens up and has good storage room inside it to equal the console storage room of the bucket seat consoles.

IMHO the absolute best seats there are would be the 01-04 60/40 seats that give you the best of everything. bench when and if you ever need it plus the bucket seat feel with arm rest storage that looks and has the same roominess of a bucket seat console truck.

    hope that helps

Well I certainly appreciate your detailed description!

I have an 02 with the 60/40 bench and I'm wondering if it would be worth looking for some sport buckets out of an 01-04 TRD..

well it will feel the same and you will have the same access so I cant see where you would gain anything but its all about the individual so if it would make you happier or if your looking for a different pattern of seat cover that's about all I can see would change.

I had a 99 I converted to buckets then put the 60/40 back in to trade it in so as you can tell I have had seats on my brain for a while and did quite a bit of looking into options.

there are some nice 4runner seats you can source that have lumbar support and even power seats and you may even find a set of leather seats with heaters in them if your up to hunting for them
