LED dual switch back install DRL's/Turn Signal

Just installed some new dual switch back 3157 SRCK LED turn signals with load resistors.
Already did the disable DRL wire cut and these things work great.
They are white when drl's are on and white when headlights are on.
They turn amber when only the turn signal is used and turn back to white after about 2 seconds after turn signal is finished.
They are bright - look great and are much cheaper than "other" lights and mods available here!

I have these switchbacks. What's the "DRL wire cut"?

 

Here is one of the threads, but I just did it the simple way and snipped/cut the green wire with (i think the red stripe) that is on the back of the fuse panel shown on this thread.
I don't use and don't like the drl's on all the time - and with cutting the wire I can have the white led's on all the time when I have the lights turned to the first notch on the
light switch where it is just drl's/turn signals - but turn signal amber only when I'm using the turn signal.

So what would happen if you did not do the cut? Would they still work as a regular bulb?

 

WITHOUT CUTTING THAT WIRE IT WOULD BLOW FUSES

 

So if I cut that wire and turned my light switch to drl, they would not come on?

 

I DID THE SWITCHBACK MOD THAT I GOT FROM CSJUMPER2003 , MY DTRL'S STAYS ON ALL THE TIME WHILE ITS STARTED AND RUNNING UNTIL I TURN TRUCK OFF , I LIKE IT ALOT , AND WITH DOING THE MOD EVERYTHING WORKS FLAWLESS AND LOOKS GOOD .

Ok. I got a price list from him. So you bought the switchbacks with resistors from him. Installed them and did the DRL wire cut and everything worked?

 

Hey st808taco - I did this and it did not blow fuses - and I used the LED's off of EBAY CHEAPER and high quality - They look great! Other users have used these and had no complaints.
I don't know exactly what you are talking about with how your CSJumper setup is with his LED's, but mine gives me WHITE LED's anytime I want - even when the drl knob is not turned to the
first position or when the truck is started/on position. THEY DON'T stay on all the time like yours do. It's a much better setup than CSJumpers who stated that the AMBER led's will be on without the
headlights ON.

 

Hi, I am planning to buy a 3157 CK Switchback (yellow/white) from Ebay and I came across your post from a few years ago. My question is about installing these 3157 CK switchbacks. Can I just plug it on the harness and install a load resistor between the blinker and ground wires from the wire harness? Will it still work even if I don't cut the DRL wire that other members that are saying from other posts. My tacoma is a 2013 and would like to have a white DRL or when headlights are on. Then a flashing amber for the turn signals. I would appreciate if you can share any ideas. Thanks
