I admittedly love having a DD capable truck, to just hop in it and go anywhere is fantastic. Plus you can still use it as a truck for household duties. I DD'ed mine though a year in college and still drive it most days to work and I've never been hassled by the cops. Another reason Indiana>Illinois.

It does get used like a boat I will admit. I do drive it on the road every 2 weeks about 10 miles. I do it to keep fluids sorta fresh. Another thing I like about offroad only is that when a component gets slightly worn, it doesn't matter to me. I can wait till last minute. Parts such as bearings, seals, heims , bushings. I don't need to worry about a failure at hwy speeds. If my upper link gets ripped off I'll likely be going under 20. I dd the truck a few years ago and the only thing I liked about it was the height. Everything else sucked.

Also, I've got the piss off hybrids down... My DD is a 2007 5.9 Cummins :D

My heims are worn out in the front end after less than a year of wheeling (whoops :D) but I don't ever see one completely failing on road. You're just lazy about maintenance :p Really the only thing to worry about actually failing at highway speeds is wheel bearings and u-joints in the driveshaft.

in all honesty im with you be be able to DD a truck and wheel the piss out of it is nice but it's also nice to be able to tow it so i built mine to do 65 so i can drive it to work and what not but it gets trailed down the freeway. state bull are the only cops that give me shit about bumper height. the rest just want to see giant mud flaps.

All I know is, that one time you break something and get stranded, because there is no replacement quickly (tranny, blown motor, t-case failure, steering box ripped of frame, etc etc...) at the offroad park which is thousands of miles away from home... it's going to suck not being able to get back to work, or family on time. I make it home no matter what. Unless the tow pig shits out, but that's less likely. Being that I am a nice guy... my fee is $500 when you break down and I tow your ass home. That's pretty fair. Oh, and you get to drive my POS home doing 40 mph:luvya:

there's enough room that if I load my truck backwards I can strap the front of another truck to the back of the deck. kinda like a wheel dolly and tow two trucks home.

I'm not cool enough to buy a trailer big enough yet. Waiting for someone to get some free time to build me one @45acp :luvya:

And no, I FUCKING HATE THESE COLORS. I seriously almost didn't buy the truck because of it. Too good of a deal to pass up though.

02 Tacoma, fixed with curse words.

That's why I wheel with people with welders and aren't assholes and will let me use their trailer in the event of a massive failure ( yet to have one due to Wheeling)!!

I had a jeep that was trail only that I.put on tons and sold it less than a year after the swap and sold my trailer andtow rig as well. I got bored of it quick and built the taco instead. I absolutely destroyed that jeep its first few trips out due to trailering it, having to drive my truck home keeps me from doing too much stupid shit. I vow to always keep the taco street worthy, if I get the trail rig itch, I have a 1944 Willy's sitting in a barn that I can build and turn it into a trail rig.
