    Hi all,
Hope it's OK I post this here. I have a question about my leveling kit. I have 1" blocks in the rear. Is it to my advantage to take them out and install "add-a-leafs"? I'd like to have 2" in the rear. I'm looking at the ToyTec add a leafs.

As for the front, I have these on right now. 2 1/2" lift. I bought them both as a leveling kit.

I'd like to go up an inch or so. I like this kit from ToyTec. 3" in the front with the flat spacer and 2" in the rear with add a leafs.

What do you all think? It's only $309 shipped. And I could get rid of the spacers and blocks.

WAAAY better option. Im guessing the truck doesn't ride so well with a 2.5" spacer in the front? Only issue is you are going to need upper control arms to compensate for a 3" lift in the front if you want the alignment in spec.

    Too few to list.
1" blocks are ok. Any higher and you might have problems later down the road with blocks. Add a leafs are more preferable to blocks but they will give you a stiff ride but not too bad. I've had AAL in my truck for over 2 years and it was fine, no sags and bought them from Toytec but I did have the TSB leaf pack with it.

Anything over 2.5" in the front, I definitely recommend aftermarket upper control arms.

Icon progressive AAL will yield 2" with overload in and offer a smoother ride than any SINGLE aal.

OK, very good input, thanks. I didn't think about having to replace the UCA's. That makes a diff. I'll have to look into them too.

You're right about the ride. Not so much on the street, but in the desert I notice it tends to bottom out the front suspension pretty easy.

A stiffer ride isn't a big deal. And I do have the 3 leaf pack now. I look at it and wonder why they went so light on the leaf springs. Especially on a PreRunner or 4X4.

Well I found the UCA's. Light Racing/SPC's. Got a deal, $325 including shipping and a set of bolts. New in the box.

Now to come up with the money for the rest. May do it in pieces.

Anyone want to donate some springs to a good cause? :dancingbacon:

    Well, I had my garage sale. Made just over $400 and ordered my parts. I went with the following;

For the rear, to eliminate the 1" block and gain an inch or so and of course improve the ride and capacity.
ToyTec Progressive Mini Leaf add a Leaf.

And for the front, to eliminate the 2 1/2" strut spacer. The top plate spacer is 3/4".
ToyTec 2.5"-3" Lift Front Coil Springs.
    Top Plate Spacer kit.

I also have a set of Light Racing UCA's to install. I'm looking for just a "hair" over 3" in the front. I know, I know, "don't put more than 3"s of lift in the front without more involved parts. I'm hoping this will be OK. I don't see any issues with an extra 1/4".

    Any input???

Your CV axle should be fine at this angle, it's the boots that you will have to replace. Your CV boot fins will rub and eventually develop a groove and tear out.

Gained roughly 3/4". And improved the system overall. Now the front lift is springs and a small top spacer instead of all spacer. It has also eliminated the rub I had at full crank in reverse. I imagine the Light Racing UCA's help there too.

Tomorrow morning I'll tackle the rear leaf pack. The front end kicked my ass today. Then off to the shop for an alignment.

Done with the new lift. Got the alignment a while ago. He showed me the lower control arm adjustment. He has them set at the factory neutral settings. The LR UCA's gave me back complete control over adjustment. He was impressed.

So here's the result of the lift. I measured from the fender to center of the wheel and front and rear are 24". Spot on front to rear. Here are a few shots.

Looks great man. Compared to my build, I'm pretty surprised you were able to level the front and rear out. Did you leave the overload leaf in? TSB done?

Thanks Tuc. I took the overload out. The instructions said if you take it out, you get 1 1/2", leave it in and you get 2". Don't need the TSB. It's an Arizona truck. It has no rust anywhere on it.
