Welcome to TW! You will find people for and against both but ultimately it comes down to what you want. If you like the way one looks over the other then go with that. It's really up to you. The only caution I have heard repeated is that you can't go back on a 6" since you have to cut the cross member for the kit...

You can, just have to get someone to weld a new cross member in. AaronArf went from 6" to LT.

For the 6", I would do a bigger tire and a different tire company than ProComp. I've had one on my old truck and hated them, but it comes down to preference.. What size XD's are you looking at?

There is absolutely no reason to lift a daily driver truck 6" unless you're sold on building a brodozer. Sure, they can look cool, but they are absolutely not practical for street use.

It'll be a pain to get into and out of, you'll need to do some body mods to make those tires fit and unless your 6" lift kit has them, you'll need UCAs, which will just up your cost, which is a concern if you are watching the budget. I don't know what type of drivability issues you will run into at that height when it comes to driveshaft vibrations, CV angles, tracking, stability, etc.

The 3" allows you to miss a lot of those issues, but even 3" is new UCA territory, which again runs into $$$ if you're not careful. You will still need to do body modifications to runs those tires, depending on wheel offset.

    Too few to list.
Lots of members prefer suspension only lift but have you considered getting RCD (4.5") lift?

If you're still going to do the 6inch lift (which I agree what everyone else is saying that its not practical at all) for tire size I would do 35x12.50r20. With the wheels, the 20x10 is a good size but it only comes in -12. To keep from having to trim a lot, try to get a bigger positive offset like +18, which is offered in the 20x9.
If you do the 3", I would do a 17" or 18" wheel with a 285/70(75)r17 or 275/70r18. You can go with a 33x12.50r17(18) tire, but you will be rubbing a lot.

    9" of Super Bro lift
Just to set the record straight on 6" lifts....they are called "drop bracket" lifts for a reason....you will not need UCA's(upper control arms) for an alignment and the CV angles (constant velocity joints) are kept at factory angles. This is because the new cross member supplied in the kit, lowers everything level while the truck is still raised 6". I commute 112 miles a day & am currently at 96K miles on a 6" kit. My CV joints will out last the 3" lift guys. Their CV's are angled upward.

Can you share what's been said? I've been looking into one, and seems like I only hear good things on TW.

I'm interested to know as well. I know RCD is a drop bracket lift but when I had them on my Silverado, they were much better quality than Procomp and Fabtech.
