Not really good, but doing things. Plan on working some OT tomorrow then yardwork (more edging / mulching, dethatch and then first mow of the season, get the irrigation up and running). Maybe I'll get around to fixing my broken garage door. I'd like to get the PA working in m truck as well as fixing the CB antenna mount and awful underseat rattle. I also need to buy some more car wash so I can clean the car and truck.

Then Sunday is Mother's Day so my gift to my Mom is giving her the day to work on her house.

    Morning guys!

My wife thinks I'm out of touch. I did all the ordering of the food for the Birthday party. I 1st ordered 2 platters from Olivia's in Milford (I'll put the names of the places so the people that live around here know I wasn't skimping) a cold cut and fruit/cheese platters. That was over $75, not bad but I had to order bread too because it's just a platter not in sandwiches. Then I ordered cupcakes from Wrights dairy farm. We love this place, it's where our wedding cake came from. So I order the cupcakes without even thinking of asking. part she saiI almost fell out of my chair! Fucking $52.50 for cupcakes!!! Holly shit!
Well thats the part she said I was out of touch about. Then got to thinking that we need drinks, chips and little thank you bags... and I was like how much is this all going to cost???

Shit, alright everyone, stop talking about the crazy Russian.
That'll be fun! Joseph loved that place when we took him. We took him to Caprin Park last weekend but Southwick is much better.
Your wife might be right :) Cupcakes are getting stupid expensive thanks to all those cooking shows. They're more expensive than cakes because they're much more labor intensive. It's not hard these days to blow a few hundred bucks on a gathering.

I'm building some bat houses & bird houses tomorrow. Mother's day gifts, plus a couple for us.

Nice! You mount them on poles, or attach to trees?

I have a 1800 S.F. bat house here.....Nice gap between chimney and siding. Squirted the house up there one day and about 10 bats came out. Have wire mesh to stuff in there, but want to make sure they are all out before hand.

Trees. I've got one bat house hung already behind our house, and I'm putting a second one up down on the lower end of the property. I like standing outside at dusk (or sitting in an adirondack chair with a drink) and watching them flitting around. I had the same problem with our house when we moved in; had a bunch of bats living under the shutters and the dog would go nuts at night when they started crawling out, and then again in the morning when they crawled back in. So I put up the bat house and they started leaving the shutters alone.
And we're trying to get more songbirds to hang around the house, so I'm putting up birdhouses in some of the surrounding trees this spring too. We already get a decent assortment of sparrows, chickadees, goldfinches, etc, but we'd like to get some swallows & bluebirds too. The swallows especially, because they also eat bugs. Between the horse farm down the road, the chickens, and the swamp up the hill we get a lot of bugs.
