Subd/bump: defined

can someone tell me what those mean when I see them in threads? Thanks.

 

subd = subscribed. means you are subscribed to the thread and watching it out of interest

bump means you are "bumping" a thread to the top of the feed to get attention/comments

 

Subd means you subscribed to the thread and are watching it bump means you like the OP posts so you bumped it to the top of the list on the home page

 

You can sub just by clicking Watch Thread in the upper right corner but for some reason people don't

I was confused at first too. This is the first forum I've seen that automatically subscribes you to threads you post in. So by just saying 'sub'd', people are essentially bookmarking the thread. Or you could be more creative and just say 'boobs' or something. Or post a picture of boobs. That'd work too.

 

So if I'm looking at a thread from three years ago and I comment with "bump" it will automatically move that thread to the "top" of the recent post list? Is the intent simply to get some new feedback on the topic if anyone would be helpful enough to add to it?
