Oy... That must've been one helluva steep departure angle with rocks to hit both hitch and bumper. i'm gonna be doing this mod here shortly, so i don't destroy mine. probably next weekend if i have time.

HEY THATS THE BUMPER I AM GONNA GET! can i please please please see yours? how are you liking it so far? installed a winch or no? gonna be putting lights in it? I have a set of Rigid's Dually DOT fogs, that i'd like to see if they work well and fit well inside this bumper. We'll have to meet up to go wheeling sometime this summer!

Honestly I wouldn't do that, cutting into your chrome bumper is just going to make it rust. I unbolted it from the the thing plate that surrounds the 7 pin and then just zip tied it up out of the way but still close enough to use it. Much cheaper and easier and people don't even see it

Hmm, don't tell me that *cry* cause i've ordered a set of SR-Qs diffused for rear illumination, that's gonna get installed into the chrome bumper as well. actually when i had my jeep, and aftermarket steel bumpers, i used some rust protectant spray. I had very good results with the spray, never saw rust around the holes. If it rusts, oh darn, gives me an excuse to go out and buy an aftermarket bumper.

Mine never rusted and I probably put 80k miles on it after the mod. I did mine slightly different and used rtv silicone as a sealant, details in my build.

Just got back from running Fortune creek and I got so close to the lake! I was probably within half mile or so and could have kept going but didn't want to risk it would a locker, plus it was ice.. Second half of the trail is more rutted up it seemed like than last year
