Here is where mine broke at. I drove it for a long time like this. Like 80 miles. It just had hairline fractures in the pan, and I couldn't tell exactly where it was leaking from because the fan pushed so much air around. I hope it's just a seal!

Now you are scaring me... I just drove it to Pocatello and back (about 130 miles) and didn't lose but a few drops of oil. I kept it under 2500rpm though. When I dumped 2 qts I was pushing the rev limiter frequently...

I guess I'll try the powder trick tomorrow and see what I find...

The motor was bouncing off of the top ear of the front diff and the passenger side bolt on the steering rack on hard hits. Because the oil pickup is in the sump, the only time much oil gets on that part of the pan is when you are stomping on the skinny pedal and the crank slings oil around. I had a hard time figuring out where it was coming from... It's a bitch to change too. Had to cut the crossmember out and weld it back in. The "right" way to do it is pull the motor. Like I said, I hope it's just the seal.

Well my diff is solid. I tried moving it with the jack and it was stout. The motor mounts seem solid too and the frame is fine. I've gusseted the frame perches. As best I could tell the leak is coming from higher up than that cover.

Morning boys and girls!. New record for me, 67 miles on the bike yesterday, kind of feeling it this morning, think I'll take it a bit easy today. This is on the North Bridge in Concord, Mass., site of the "shot heard 'round the world"

Wow! That's a lot of miles. I don't think I've ever gone more than 10 on my bike.

Mine's a low geared mountain bike. I usually go ride on dirt trails anyway. Never road on the roads much. I imagine in my 50 minute spinning classes I racked up some miles but I'm more of a runner than a biker. I've ran several 10K's and usually 8-10 miles while training for them.

Morning Miss Susan - Happy Mothers' Day!
Tingly hands....did you pinch a nerve in your shoulders or neck yesterday? Or do you think you just over did it all together yesterday?

I miss running - my knees just can't do it any more. I would still do some trail running on some of the dirt paths around here but there's too much dog poop to avoid so I haven't been out in a while.
you fixing the truck today? or at least doing some more investigation?
