That is seriously my favorite lake to fish. And you can get up into the 12-13" range. Browns are tastier than rainbows.

@BabyTaco , are there any recommendations you have for Medicine Bow? Or is it just one of those areas you have to explore? Not finding much info on it.

Eh, its a small area with a spider web of back roads. Super cool area to explore but you can also just drive through it pretty quick of you wanted. If you chose to camp there I could show you some sweet areas that would be easy to get to and probably have an alpine lake to yourself. What month is the trip? Its pretty inaccessible up till around mid July.

Unfortunately if I camp at Medicine Bow it would make it an extra 3 hours of driving after trail riding all day on top of the 3 hours I plan to drive to get to the spot I had planned to camp for that night.(Kelly Flats campground)

I was planning on stopping at the Forestry Department in Laramie to see what they suggest, then drive through Medicine Bow on the way to Yellowstone. But if you think I should try to make it to Medicine Bow to camp for a night I'll try moving things around to make it work.

As of right now it looks like it won't be until September of next year since that's the next soonest time my fiance isn't taking classes.

Supposed to snow in Denver tonight.

Also, drove through the most intense rain ever. Couldn't see at all hardly

The forestry department wont be much of help. They will just give you a map . If you are short on time then it won't be anything crazy different from Colorado or any other national forest. Less people but just driving through will give you some nice views. If you want something "different" from what you will see in most places then Vedauwoo would be a nice place to camp. Tons of flat spots and and well maintained dirt roads in. What makes this place awesome is the rock formation. I would suggest getting up before the sun and hiking around to see the sun rise.

Snowy Range is really cool because it's a backpack fly fishermans wet dream :p. 75 alpine lakes stocked and most of the lakes you have to pack into so the likely hood of having a lake all to yourself is high. Plus there is golden trout stocked up there some where so it's fun to find them. September is an awesome time to be up there but it's not going to be a lot different from the big horns or the rockies.

Get ready for full on retard from the CO drivers. Laramie got dusted, about as much as Marc's picture of Sinks.
