At first I was going to say that's a lawsuit right there. I'm not a civil but I know enough to know that wasn't constructed right at all and I'd be pissed if I was the owner. Then you say he is the one that did it. I guess it's still a lawsuit, just not between the parties I originally thought. There's just all kinds of stupid going on there.

Either you guys got a lot more than we did, or you didn't sleep in late enough. I kind of expected the same the way it was coming down last night, but when I looked outside when I got up, nothing but green everywhere.

By the way, multiquote still doesn't work for me. The posts about clicking reply on the left and inserting... I don't see any of those buttons. I get Post Reply at the bottom right and an Insert button with a quote option right above the box, but that just puts the quote tag in - doesn't insert any posts I've clicked multiquote on. This is on desktop Internet Exploder (11 or whatever is current).

I'm helping a friend replace a water heater that was ruined due to his crawlspace flooding. Kind of muddy in here. He just discovered it this morning.

I live in the partially underground part of our house. We had to go buy an extension for our gutter pipe since all the water was kind of coming down in a bad spot. I was worried about it leaking into the house. So far so good, but I'm glad we did it because it looks like they got flooded out a few houses down.

they told us to towel it up and put fans on it. We've toweled up and rung out gallons of water and there's no end in sight. Now our whole house reeks like a storm sewer and we're all staying elsewhere temporarily.

I left a message saying they would need to have it checked out and haven't heard back yet. Someone told me I can contact the health department and complain about the habitability or something but I can't find anything online about it.

Does your sewer exit the house above or below the slab?
If it's below the slab, there should be a floor drain that would take the water. If it's backed up, you could have blackwater in your basement not just stormwater.
Any idea how water entered the basement?

I have and also have sent them pics

No idea on the sewer we just starting renting this place in March

We think there must be a crack in the foundation somewhere or something, its seems to be seeping out the bottom of the wall but the walls are dry.

    Assuming your basement is unfinished?
If your sewer exits above the floor, you'll see pipes going through the wall like this
    [IMG]

otherwise they'll go through the floor

Hey, CO folks. New owner, new to the site. Not sure what direction I'll take my new ride, but I'll have to tread carefully. I have a project track Miata that the wife tolerates. Not sure she'll tolerate 2 projects at once.
