So did you go mudding yet? I'm curious to see if you followed through after all of these mixed responses :mudding:

I went out a tried it and had a blast! I did get stuck but it was my fault because I pulled a stupid move but I was able to push myself out quite easily without help. My truck got really dirty which I loved but the cleaning is always the hardest. I had to put on some old clothes and get under the truck to hose it off. My breaks seem to squeal now but I dont know if that is due to the mud. Are there any areas I should specifically look at to clean? Any tips on cleaning? I had a blast and want to do it again but I need tips for easier cleaning!

For me I love the look of mud slapped all over the paint! But after i go i usually always go right to the car wash and spray down the engine bay, everything underneath like the frame etc, and a really important place to make sure is free of mud is the inside of the tires. Sometimes if the rims are caked in mud it throws off the steering because of the added weight at the wheels! When you're cleaning out the engine bay just make sure to keep everything on low pressure and dont focus on any spot for too long! Try to let the engine cool off before you spray it too because if its hot and you spray it down it will suck the water into the different components! Hope this helps! Have fun mudding in the future.

if that's the case, then what's to stop all the water and sediments on the highway from going in the same places when driving for hours on end in a down poor?

I'm pretty sure you're gonna have an easier chance of getting water, like say from rain for example, into those important places than you would thick greasy mud that's the consistency of peanut butter or thicker. if only they would put some sort of device on all the shafts that exit the numerous gearboxs that would somehow not let anything in all while keeping the fluids that are supposed to be in the gearboxs from coming out then that would be the ticket. Ya.......ya that would be the ticket, oh well, maybe some day we'll have that capability. like I said I've done this crap my whole life, and have yet to see a failure due specifically to driving in mud. I'll take my own personal experience over some b.s. I read on the interweb any day of the week.(weird huh?) but I also drove American trucks all my life, so maybe that's the difference. Maybe these Toyotas are just meant to be pavement queens.
