Changed Spark Plugs Today...

My buddy and I changed the spark plugs in our 05's today. It took about 2 hrs for the first truck and about an hour to do the second. Huge thanks to Chris4x4 and his write-up (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/30479-how-spark-plug-change-1-gr-fe.html) it was an indispensable part of getting this done. We didn't remove as many parts as Chris, nor did we use as many tools, but I can definitely see how they'd all be helpful. I'm hoping to see a bit of a jump in MPG's. Pretty glad I did it and it only cost me $35 out of pocket!

 

I print his instructions out, use them, then frame them to hang over my bed.

The "Tacoma Sutra"?

Sorry, no pics. The plugs looked better than I thought they would though. A little corrosion but pretty "normal" wear based on the book we had and Chris's post. They were well worn but no melting or anything to really worry about. All 12 of our plugs looked pretty similar in wear. Some of mine were different from the others though. Four of my old ones were the same as the Densos we put in, but two were different. I'm not sure why that is, but I'm pretty psyched we changed them!
