Are you gonna pull the whole thing as one piece to fully weld it? And I'm assuming you're sleeving the tube with 1.5"?

    Thanks!

    Thanks Jerry!

    neegdogdig, way too much

I plan to cut the tack welds at the C pillar once I'm done making all the pieces. Pull it off in 2 pieces (front and back), weld then re-install. I have plenty of room around the C pillar to get full welds. Sleeving everything with 1.5"x.120 DOM.

Weird load path? Because they aren't the same angle? In a perfect world or on a trophy truck they would be. Dead tubes won't be there.

No, not necessarily the same angle, but the load path doesn't intersect the opposing tube. It hits the horizontal bar and goes horizontal and then down again? Redrawn with arrows to indicate load in a roll. Why not avoid the sheer point and have the tube join in the center of your crossbar (in blue below)? Trophy truck or not, presumably you're trying to save your ass in a rollover.

And tube beveling? Hard to tell from the pix but looks like all tubes are just raw notched?

Lol, so critical and it's not even fully welded yet!! I have saddle gussets for the "dead space". Using a hole saw notcher for most of the notches. Hand notched everywhere else.

I think it's more on the lines of constructive criticism, rather than negativity. I want more posts like that. :luvya:

Critical? Just because you were an asshole in my build doesn't mean I'm going to be one in yours. They were simple questions (and for the punctuationally challenged, you can tell they were questions because they end with a question mark "?"). Despite the thriving facebook generation, not everything lends itself to being answered by looking at a picture. And yes, now I'm being an asshole.

With that, I'll leave you too it. Good luck, roll the fucker at 80 for all I care.

Also, I wasn't ask about notching, I asked about a beveled edge. But since you're the expert, I'll just post a picture and I'm sure you can figure out why I asked. :luvya:

So serious! :rofl:I don't remember being an asshole in your thread but thanks for the heads up on beveled edges. This is my first cage and clearly have a lot to improve upon if I decide to chop this one off and build a full interior cage front to back. Hell my rear suspension needs a complete overhaul and shock tuning before I can even go 80 in the dirt :burnrubber:The fucker will go 80 on a flat freeway with no head wind. Where's your cage bro?? I feel like with your go-fast suspension you'd have one by now :luvya: With all these Facebook wheelers, you can never trust some of their opinions ;)

I wouldn't expect you to remember, but there's a reason the BS got cleaned out by Bob himself. If it's your first cage, one would assume you'd be more open to general design questions/improvements, especially since it's not even burned in yet.

I should have a cage, never denied it. It's a trade off between having the time to do it, and giving up using this truck to take the family camping. The little ones won't fit in the back once the cage goes in. Facebook wheelers or not, I didn't give you any of my opinions about your exo. It's already pretty obvious, you don't take any form of criticism, even in the form of a question. ;)

    Muther fuckin' WAFFLESTOMP!

Looks great IMO Brian. That horizontal bar across the back won't even come close to bending in the case of a roll over with your diaganol bar meeting at 2 different spots (the gap in the middle). And to be honest it looks better that way.

    Good job brah
