Hey man! It's pretty easy. There are two plug harnesses in the kick panels. One is for lights and locks and the other is for speakers. That's pretty much it. So fun

I highly doubt it, but for heavier off-road use I can see why they recommend a heavier fluid.

    ...too much shit to list.
Synthetics are fine. They just break down faster when water is introduced (which certainly happens with diffs).
Check/change the fluid and you'll be fine.

Roger that! On my next fluid change, should I go back to non synthetic?

I broke mine in with 75-90 but that was because I didn't know they recommended 85-140. I would use 85-140 and follow their instructions to not void the warranty.

    from their website.

GEAR OIL: THESE AXLES ARE SHIPPED WITH ASSEMBLY LUBE ONLY. FAILURE TO ADD GEAR OIL WILL CAUSE IMMEDIATE FAILURE AND BE VERY EVIDENT. ALWAYS FILL FROM FACTORY FILL HOLE NOT AFTERMARKET COVER FILL HOLE. We recommend Lucas 85w/140 gear oil, Lucas 80w/90 gear oil is also acceptable. We do not recommend synthetic fluids. IF you have a factory limited slip or any clutch style limited slip a limited slip additive will need to be added. TRANS-X makes a good additive that is available at any auto parts store and we also have it available for purchase.

New gear sets MUST be broken in correctly to prevent damage. Not following proper break-in procedures will lead to overloading and overheating the ring and pinion as well as breaking down and ruining the gear oil. Not following proper break-in procedures can be determined during inspection and will void the warranty.

Please follow the below guidelines to ensure a proper break-in and long life of your gears.
    • Only use high quality gear oils. ECGS recommends Lucas non-synthetic 85W-140
    • On initial run, drive lightly for 15 to 20 minutes then stop to allow differential to cool completely for 20 to 25 minutes.
    • Avoid towing and heavy acceleration, as well as vary speeds every 5 to 10 minutes while driving on highways.
    • Drive conservatively and do not drive more than 50 miles at a time without allowing a cool cycle during the first 500 miles following installation.
    • After completing initial break-in, change gear oil at 500 miles. Small metal particles are normal and gear oil will typically be black. Excessive metal in gear oil should be reviewed by a competent differential mechanic to ensure safety of internal parts.

Post gear oil change and initial break-in: Towing.
    • First time towing should be limited to light load for no more than 15 miles, then allow differential to cool completely for 20 to 25 minutes.
    • Repeat this procedure for first 45 miles of towing for full break-in of gears for towing vehicles.

PREMATURE OVERLOADING AND IMPROPER BREAK-IN WILL CAUSE GEAR OIL BREAKDOWN AND MAY RESULT IN RING AND PINION FAILURE VOIDING THE GEAR WARRANTY!

Ok I'm not sure if this is an issue or not?? I got the rear third w/ ARB installed, but when I spin the third where the drive shaft connects it only spins the passenger side, driver side doesn't move. I thought both wheels were supposed to spin opposite directions or something?? Seems like the axle shafts went in ok?? Did I do somethin wrong??

no, you're fine. hook up the arb, when that's turned on and if only one wheel spins then you have an issue.

Thanks so much guys for all the responses!! It's in. I decided not to drive it home tonight though, figured I'll let the fipg setup over night and I didn't feel like bleeding the brakes lol.
I think I'm just gunna put 75/90 in it for now cause that's what I have. Hopefully I'll be able to grab some 80/140 or 85/140 before wheeling..

Glad I asked about the gear oil because I wouldn't of known about the 15-20 minute drive to break in the gears. Thanks @bayareataco

No prob, definitely let the rtv set up over night, I didn't and sprayed oil all over the place, had to tear it apart in Tahoe at my buddy's and fix it.
